After a memorable debut for Swansea City on Saturday Olivier Ntcham is chomping at the bit for more football after testing himself at his new home stadium for the first time. In a very polished, and times a tough tackling debut, he is desperate for more.

And on Wednesday night he is likely to get it.

It’s been a slow pre season for Ntcham, leaving Celtic and then not finding a club that he felt comfortable with meant his arrival at the swans required some fast and effective conditioning training. On Saturday, despite his hard work he did come off in the second half but was very pleased with how it went. “I really like the attacking role in midfield because I can get forward and help the team attack. I also want to help the team defensively. I always express myself when I have the ball. When you chase the ball, it’s different, but when we have the ball we will shine.” enthused Ntcham. I am really pleased with how it went on a personal note. I had some cramp after 70 minutes, so I had to come off,” he said. I haven’t played much this year, so I am really happy to be back on the pitch and playing again. The head coach said throughout the week that he’d talk to me about the game and how I was improving physically throughout the week.

Ntcham seems to be in a very good place at the moment, it’s very early days but his contribution against Hull City was enough to get him in to Russell Martin’s plans for Wednesday night under the lights against Millwall. On his team mates and how his very early days are going Ntcham said “ We worked really well together, with and without the ball,”
That’s good news, although the swans were literally held to a draw by a pretty dull Hull side they have to find a way to score goals. It has been an issue for a number of seasons, and on the evidence to date that is still an issue. Things could click on Wednesday, and we hope they do, it’s three points that Swansea City have to snap up.

The swans have won five out of the last seven encounters between the sides, drawing one and losing one. The last two meetings have resulted in Swansea City wins. The last game at the end of last season was an impressive 3-0 away win at the New Den for the swans. Early news is that Korey Smith is still struggling slightly for fitness, and Liam Walsh sadly is still has a way to go to even start getting match fit. He is training but it’s a slow progress. It should be a similar side that starts on Wednesday, Kyle Naughton impressed on Saturday and is looking in peak condition. As news reaches us we will of course keep you right up to date.
