Hannes Delcroix agrees to join the Swans : Plus all the latest Inc Low/ Cundle & Mensah
Thursday, 23rd Jan 2025 13:35 by Liam Walters

It is expected that Swansea City will announce the loan of Burnley centre back, Hannes Delcroix before noon tomorrow. If they can he will be included in the Swans squad for Norwich City on Saturday, however nothing is certain at this moment in time.

Hannes Delcroix, who is now twenty five has a contract at his parent club, Burnley until the summer of 2026, he has made no appearances this season for Burnley. Although Haitian by birth he has Belgium citizenship. As stated he hasn’t played first team football this season but he did make twelve appearances the season before in the Premier League. The usual clearances will take place which generally can be hurried through before registration is sought via the Welsh FA primarily. Having played just forty two games over the last three years he will be considered either fresh and ready to go or in need of some time to get into the Swans style of play.

Burnley agreed he could seek a loan elsewhere hence ‘’Wasserman’ (his agent) an agency the Swans have worked with numerous times before offering him out to clubs, primarily Swansea. You would expect this to be a fairly straight forward loan deal for a player Burnley value at around two million plus. It isn’t an overwhelming signing but it’s a position which Swansea are desperate to cover for the rest of the season. Details of the deal are not known at this time.

Many Swans fans will say it’s a start after some twenty three days of no concrete signings. Rumours of Ex Manchester United defender, Timoth Fosu-Mensah has been linked to the Swans but our information is he isn’t of serious interest as yet. He wasn’t a target for the curtailed trip to the Netherlands last weekend, as he too isn't playing for any club. Timoth Fosu-Mensah Is a free agent, but we have been told his salary will be far more than the Swans could reach along with a signing on fee even for the rest of the season. He hasn’t played this season since becoming unattached last summer from Bayer 04 Leverkusen. His all warn es Uber his career is around seventy two so at twenty seven with a history of injuries the Swans have to steer clear of him.

Luke Cundle, the twenty two year old Wolves midfielder is now confirmed as of interest to the Swans. The Molineux club are happy to let him go and their preferred option now is a permanent transfer. On that we understand Millwall have put in a bid for Cundle but that has been rejected. The Swans have spoken to Wolves briefly on Cundle, so we will see how much interest there is now with Bristol City also interested. What we do know is Swansea cannot match what Wolves want for a permanent move.

We have also been told that Joe Low (above) hasn’t been forgotten by the Swans this transfer window but the longer it goes on the more likelier it will be he will want to come to Swansea in the summer. That’s the test now for Wycombe. They’ve always stated they will not be letting Low go. However, their resilience will be tested no doubt before the window ends on February 3rd.

There is no other news at this moment in time during a window which to date has disappointed many Swans followers.

A loan for this player is ideal , if Low does sign it will mean cover at CB and Darling could go in this window , if Low does not sign ,it still gives us cover until the summer , as Darling would be kept until the end of the season, a good deal allround

Low and Darling are in the same position. Low seems lean to come to Swansea but Darling might want to stay put The best outcome is Darling to go now for a fee and Low to come on a free in the Summer. A nice trick to pull off.
