Swansea City get 20 million investment : Levien & Kaplan go !
Friday, 8th Nov 2024 08:13 by Keith Haynes

The news of the departure of two men who have pretty much stalled the Swans progress since relegation from the Premier League has been met with delight by Swans fans. Andrew Coleman, who we reported a month ago as a part of discussions to overhaul the club has at last got his wish.

He needs to be thoroughly congratulated for that.

Alongside Nigel Morris, Brett Cravatt and new man Jason Cohen (below) there will be changes and the initial disclosures reveal twenty million pounds incoming. Swans investor Jake Silverstein, who has been quiet for about eighteen months is believed to have been involved in the overall effort to move on Kaplan and Levien. He is yet to disclose his future at the club. That will become clear we understand quite quickly. Until then believe nothing. However, he has certain business links away from football to all those named this morning.

If you want a complete run down of all these figures and their links to the Swans then please click below. The report from October 16th on these pages covers much of what people would want to know about the new faces involved. Back then we explained who the characters were. Before that our work led us to uncover that dialogue had been ongoing for some months to remove Kaplan and Levien. It gives a brief on Jason Cohen as well.

The headline is below. You make your own minds up.

That’s here —> ⚽️ The end for Kaplan & Levien ?

We don’t pretend to know all the information that has led to this ‘takeover’ for the want of a better word, but hard work by our two main journalists led to this report becoming news. And today it pretty much has all come to fruition. However, there is a word of warning here. Despite this new investment it is only the start of a new era, in a way. There will be some familiar faces and one or two others initially. We have learned very recently that this isn’t the conclusion as there are now new investors who will come in over the coming weeks and months. This isn’t just a takeover of matters by those named, there will be more to come on this. Andrew Coleman calls them ‘partners’ at this moment in time.

Talk will now return to new contracts for Harry Darling and Ben Cabango, what we now know is their agents will return to the discussion table late next week or the week after. However, two sources tell us all that is needed to get the pair to sign is a rise in the basic salary on offer. The rest of the contract is pretty much there. If that does happen in the short term it proves just how important it was to remove Kaplan and Levien, who always held the final decision on all matters.

Coleman’s hands were tied up until yesterday. Now they are not. Let us see where we go now.

More on this later.

Great news for Swans fans regarding Levien & Kaplan moving on! However, if the last two games don't point out why our soon-to-be out-of-contract defensive duo need be re-upped, then nothing else will. They deserve a pay raise! Our best teams over the years always had that strong "spine" down the middle, and both Darling & Cabango are 2 pieces to the puzzle that are very much needed moving forward.
