Cullen gets an injection of hope for Norwich City
Friday, 13th Sep 2024 12:16 by Liam Walters

He’s been fighting for fitness with the determination you would expect from Liam Cullen, and as a result he is looking more favourable for selection tomorrow. It’s still in the balance but his ankle injury is responding to treatment.

This week has seen some improvement by Cullen aided by a series of rigorous treatments including direct injections into the area he is suffering from. The steroid injection, and what is termed as an acid jab (to assist with more free movement we are told) has seen Liam respond positively. This course of treatment in footballers isn’t unusual but over time can cause issues later on in life in the affected area. The treatment Liam has received should give him relatively pain free movement, but at the level of professional football he is at it can go wrong. He will exert far more pressure on his ankle as an elite sportsman.

Like everything when substances are taken or injected into the body it’s a gamble.

It is likely that Luke Williams will give some basic details in his pre match press conference this afternoon after training. However, as yet that’s still to come.

We will report on that later on.
