James Ward Prowse Appears To Have Snubbed A Return ToSouthampton Friday, 30th Aug 2024 14:42 Latest reports suggest that James Ward Prowse was offered the chance to return to St Mary's on loan, but as turned down a chance of coming back to St Mary's or of going to Everton in preference of joining Nottingham Forest.
givemesport.com are reporting that James Ward Prowse is set for a medical at Nottingham Forest.
After being told he was surplus to requirements at West ham, he was told he could leave on loan, Southampton, Everton and Nottingham Forest were keen, but with the decision lying with the player as to who he could choose, it seems that he has snubbed a return to Southampton and opted for the East midlands.
It is also said that Southampton are extremely disappointed as they thought they were in pole position and hat plans had been changed specially to secure his services on a loan agreement and that involved taking Aaron Ramsdale permanently instead of on a temporary basis.
It will be a real blow to Saints supporters who considered him one of their own and would have hoped that sentiment would play a bigger part in his decision than it actually has.

Is this really a snub and were Saints really in contention ? I have my doubts. Both Saints and JWP have moved on. I am more excited to see how Dibling and Fernandez progresss, who are more creative.

Silly Boy. Chasing money doesn’t always give you what you want. If he had stayed with us in The Championship as captain for just the one season, he would be playing in The Premiership and on his way to being a Club Legend. Instead he will probably finish his career at Forest, win nothing and just be a foot note in the history of S F C.

I wouldn't want him back. We've seen the best of him and we'd only be comparing him to the player he was, I should think unfavourably most of the time. I'd sooner have Flynn Downes and the other central midfielders we've replaced him with. If he wanted to come back, it's a bit like your ex wife (or husband) wanting to come back when your happily re-married. We've moved on, so leave well alone.

This is absolute rubbish. The problem with sports journalism today is any numpty with a computer and internet access can write a story and websites like news now spread those stories. We were never in for JWP. We actually have better midfielders than him in the squad. I read the story that said he rejected us. It was written by some spotty teenager (forest fan) 😂 We just need to get corn 🌽 hole over the line and if we can get that striker in we will have had one of our best ever windows. COYR!!!

From the comments made by RM I don't think we were ever in for KWP thankfully He just wouldn't fit the style of play we are now committed to

Yeah firstly it is nonsense that he snubbed us, more likely the other way round judging by Martin’s comments and there is NO way it had any affect on how the Ramsdale transfer went, that’s just silly.. I’m over the moon with Rambo and as another has mentioned, I’m far more excited about the Downes, Fernandes, Dibling, Lallana combos rather than a trudgy has been. Forest want him cos they have a 9 foot striker, we’ve been trying to rid of ours for over a year now. If JWP was that good, why is it only the relegation candidates who showed interest? That was then but this is now!

Phew, so glad he chose another club. Flynn or JWP is a no brainer.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Swansea City Polls |
