We have now had it confirmed that Nathan Tjoe-A-On, the Swans 22 year old Rotterdam born defender has been the focus of interest from one Championship club, and a second division club in the Netherlands.

We first reported on Nathan some eleven days ago, that story is below.

For some reason the player hasn’t impressed at Swansea City and earned just fifteen minutes or so on loan last season at Heerenveen, despite making an appearance in a 3-2 win over Ajax. Nathan remains a favourite in Asia and has seen international action recently for Indonesia (he acquired Indonesian citizenship in March of this year)

Many have remarked that retaining Nathan would be commercially the right thing to do, however, if he doesn’t fit the model head coach Luke Williams wants then surely with current interest he has to leave ? Oxford United, newly promoted to the Championship have inquired about Nathan as has a second tier side in the Netherlands. The Eerste Divisie has numerous second string sides playing in the league, and none of them will be interested. NAC Breda were promoted from the Eerste Divisie play offs after beating Nathan’s first professional club Excelsior. They in turn battered ADO Den Haag 9-2 before succumbing to NAC. They finished nineteen points off the top play off place, but still made it.

FC Groningen and Willem 11 were promoted automatically. With so few sides able to pay the Swans asking price which is around what the club paid for him, Oxford United look favourite if they proceed to a formal discussion.

The interest in Swansea City in South Korea remains according to Korean correspondent Jim Bulley, so the commercial side of things could easily take off if Eom Ji-sung talks move forwards tomorrow. The situation is a simple one. The Swans want to pay a million dollars, Gwangju FC want twice that, and you would imagine a meeting halfway would succeed for Swansea City. However, at this point we are told that’s their maximum bid. So, more work to do there. It’s nothing to do with agents etc … The Swans are nowhere near to discussing personal terms, or any logistics. Gwangju FC are in some financial difficulty so it could be the Swans sit this out to test the South Korean clubs resilience.

It now seems that the striker on Luke Williams lips is of interest to Millwall. That player is Macaulay Langstaff. After a poor loan of Obafemi from Burnley last season the Lions are now apparently in first place to secure talks for the player. (Football Insider) We can’t confirm this news but there’s no smoke without fire. So, it seems the Swans need to either press on and get Williams most desired target this summer, or as is happening with a couple of transfer targets this week. They let others do the bidding and the demanding.
