Blackburn Rovers build up continues on the Indy : Cabango fit ‘Latest’
Friday, 27th Oct 2023 12:41 by @Cornish67David

Swansea City have the challenge of three exceptionally hard fixtures before yet another international break. First off its Blackburn Rovers away tomorrow afternoon before facing Sunderland at home then Ipswich away.

Michael Duff has mentioned the ‘relentless’ Championship journey all clubs are on, but the Swans have just four fixtures in November and including Blackburn away tomorrow five games in thirty three days. First up is that game tomorrow against the Riversiders at Ewood Park. Coming off the back of two home defeats, this game is beginning to take on some importance for Duff and his Swansea team. The performance last weekend against Leicester City was there, but on Tuesday it was nothing short of poor against a very average Watford side.

The good news from St George’s Park ( where the Swans are staying for two nights pre match ) is that Ben Cabango has been given the nod for selection in tomorrow afternoons squad. That will toughen up the defensive line with Kristian Pedersen also fit having come through Tuesdays game. Unfortunately it’s looking like a game too early for Josh Key. Mykola Kukharevych will go through a tough assessment on his knee in the morning, but he is described as touch and go. That’s great news for Cabango who Duff described yesterday day as a leader. “I think Ben has been good, I think there is a leader in there. He is a young player, but I think he has got leadership qualities. He has been receptive to new ideas. In terms of defenders and the ways I want them to defend, he has been really open and tried to implement it. Ben has been great and he is the type of player you want to work with. He has got the physical attributes to be a good defender and he takes a lot of detail on board”

We started off this weeks jamboree with columnist Andrew Winfield setting out his thoughts with the injury list expanding and offering some insight in to his thoughts on strategy and formation.

Around a thousand Swansea supporters are expected at Ewood Park tomorrow with the hope that Tuesday night was just a blip and they can find the form which saw away wins at Plymouth and Millwall.

You don’t lose that type of form in an international break.
