Swansea City v Bristol City : The feel good factor is back ?
Saturday, 2nd Sep 2023 08:00 by Liam Walters

The Swans and the Robins face off at the Swansea.Com Stadium a little later on with Michael Duff having secured the players he wanted to kick start his season as Swansea City head coach.

None of the newly acquired players are eligible to play this lunchtime but all are potential first team starters this season. Duff was moderately happy despite losing at home to AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night in the League Cup, and has no injury concerns from that game. The Swans go in to this game, their fifth of the league campaign looking for their first win after narrow defeats away at West Bromwich Albion and Preston North End. The home games against Coventry City and Birmingham City were drawn.

With the Swans on two points and towards the end of the table, albeit early days Duff will want to win this one against a Robins side which have also drawn two games this season. Their only win so far was away at Millwall. They were defeated 2-0 by Birmingham City at home last time out in the league. Bristol City also exited the league cup in the week losing at home 1-0 to Norwich. Zak Vyner who was rumoured to be a Swans target this transfer window signed a new three year contract yesterday. Talking about that he said. “I’m super happy to be signing this contract and to get it over the line,” Vyner said. “I’m going into a big part of my career and to be doing it with the club I have been at since I was eight years old is even more special. We’ve got a good, hungry squad and I want to try my best to contribute as much as I can to take us as high as possible in the league and get us into the Premier League – that’s the club and my ambition.”

Bristol City have sold out their allocation but the home ends do have tickets available from the ticket office pre match. Due to the kick off time of 12.30pm the game is available for Swans fans to watch worldwide ( Inc UK ) with no restrictions. Information from the clubs website.

Swans fans itching for extra football action this morning can attend Landore for free and watch the under 18 Swans take on Cardiff City, kick off is 10.30am.

Team news to follow.
