Bolton full-back arrives at Dale on loan Thursday, 24th Aug 2023 16:11 by AtThePeake Jim McNulty has moved to strengthen his defensive options with the arrival of Bolton Wanderers full-back Max Conway on loan until the January transfer window. "I can't wait to get going. I've had a few conversations with the gaffer - the style of play really suits me," Conway told the official website. "He's [Jimmy McNulty] a really good manager. It's all been positive, everything that he's been saying to me, the philosophy and how he wants me to play. Conway is a left-sided defender and although he is yet to make a first-team appearances for the Whites, he did spend the majority of the last campaign on loan at Buxton in the National League North, making 26 league appearances, scoring one goal and assisting one in that time. At Bolton, he signed his first professional contract in 2022 and currently plays in the B Team alongside former Rochdale starlet Luke Matheson. He featured in a couple of the club's pre-season friendly fixtures this summer against Curzon Ashton and a West Brom U21 outfit.
