Swansea City will have no real issue selling Morgan Whittaker come June 10th, the date when the transfer window opens. And our usual weekend chat with several supporters of the website confirm this. The Swans will have some job on their hands tempting the twenty two year old to stay even if Joel Piroe does move on in the summer.

It is more than likely Russell Martin will remain at the Swans next season, and for all the huffing and puffing regards Morgan he still has on,y made two starts since returning from his loan spell at Plymouth Argyle. The likelihood of Plymouth returning to try and sign Morgan is high, and they will be keen to get this deal done as Glasgow Rangers are also interested. That aside Sunderland will also register an interest we understand.

Speaking to a source close to him at World in Motion we understand that Morgan was decidedly unhappy that he couldn’t leave the club in January. However, he was told the summer would be more appropriate and as the Swans paid his wages then that’s what will happen. Morgan drove down to Plymouth last Tuesday night as the Swans were without a game to watch Plymouth v Bristol Rovers in league one. Not only that he was sat next to head of recruitment Jimmy Dickinson which set some Pilgrims tongues wagging. Argyle manager Steven Schumacher said: "He didn't have a game himself on Tuesday night for Swansea. He asked could he come down and watch the game and we got him some tickets. It was great to see him. He has obviously played a huge part in our success this year and helped us get to where we have got to in the league”

It’s clear Morgan would love to join Plymouth but they are going to have to stump up the required money for the Derby born striker, and speculation of around 2.5 million isn’t wide of the mark. And there will be sell on’s and bonuses. On signing Morgan, Schumacher said. "If we could afford him we would love to sign Morgan Whittaker. He's a top player, but we would only be in that position if we get to where we want to get to” In normal speak the Plymouth boss is inferring if his side get promoted and if they have the money they will bid for him.

However, numerous sources in Scotland continue to report Glasgow Rangers as ready to make the required offer to sign Morgan. The Gers last bid was around two million pounds which the Swans rejected. Having recalled Morgan from Plymouth many news sources were reporting him leaving Swansea almost immediately. That obviously wasn’t the case as Michael Obafemi was on his way to Burnley and needed replacing. Now though Swansea are ready to sell Morgan, there’s little to keep him in west Wales and we don’t doubt discussions between him and Jimmy Dickinson around that subject would have taken place on Tuesday. Anyone who thinks they didn’t is far far away in the clouds.

Of course though what Dickinson, Whittaker and Schumacher want doesn’t really come in to the equation. It’s what Swansea City want and that’s the key. If you want him Plymouth, stop muttering under your breath about how hard done by you were in January and stump up the cash. Encouraging him to attend a game with his girlfriend under the guise of ‘Oh hello Morgan, fancy seeing you here’ seated next to the clubs head of recruitment is one thing. Putting up the cash, and shutting up the jaw movement seems to be another.
