Wednesday, 23rd Mar 2022 19:01 by @Cornish67David

It seems that Wales old guard will be fit to face Austria tomorrow night, and that includes Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen. You would expect all to be involved at some point in a game where only victory will do.

As expected Bale will do literally anything for his country, talking last evening about his injuries at a press gathering he was quick to point out. "It's normal to have some niggles. I've been training for the last two and a half months," said Bale. "I'm in a lot better shape than I was in the last camp where I'd been out for about three months. I'm ready to play whatever is necessary tomorrow." Referencing his last time with the Wales squad he reminded the gathering We went toe to toe with Belgium [in November] and we weren't just happy to sit back and take a point. It'll be no different on Thursday, we're going to be very aggressive. We've not spoken too much about the importance of it, it's another camp and we've just got on with it. When you've got big players in that changing room like we've got, they always turn up to the party."

A packed stadium will greet both sides with an expectation amongst the vast majority this game will be a step to a play off final against either Scotland or Ukraine in June. For anyine in any doubt about Bale’s understanding g about this game he believes this is up there with one of the biggest games he has ever played. "It's going to be one of the biggest games I've played in, and it would be a dream come true for anyone to play in a World Cup. It's something that I would love to achieve for myself, my country and for the fans. It's a big advantage for us to play at home in front of our own fans. They know how important they are for us and we appreciate them more than ever. The fans inspire us and push us on as our 12th man”

With only Joe Morrell out as a result of suspension, the yellow card decision by FIFA means Wales have a full squad to choose from tomorrow.
