The discussions between Swansea City FC and Russell Martin have come to an end this afternoon with a few more things to be agreed as we report. The general feeling is that Martin wants to go and talk to his wife about the offer, and seriously consider the consequences of leaving MK Dons. Martin has built a solid foundation at Stadium MK and was only talking a few days ago about the future of the club and him being very much involved.The mother of three, Jasmine, clinched two trophies at the Miami Pro fitness model event after months of intensive training in 2018.

Martins’s wife Jasmine will most certainly have a big say in what happens next, she too is a trophy winning performer and very fixed in what the future should hold for her family.,

Martin too is extremely proud of her achievements. “To achieve what she has with three little ones is amazing. "Me and the kids were so excited and proud watching their mummy up on stage and even happier when she got the trophies she so deserves!" And then after that Jasmine posted her own message: "The most amazing day! Coming home with not one but two trophies and a pro card, coming 2nd in both my categories! "The first against twenty other amazing girls and the second seventeen. "To say I’m on a high right now is an understatement! So many thank you’s which I’ll do tomorrow but for now I’m off to enjoy my granola!"

The Martin family are one unit, and Russell isn’t going to rush head on in to any decision, and as proven in yesterday’s news reports ( not on here ) of him being announced as the next swans manager are quite premature. We know he has been offered a three year deal but there is much more to talk about hence yesterdays priority talks after MK Dons 5-0 defeat at Bournemouth. Accommodation and schooling won’t be an immediate priority for Russell, but in time that will be an issue. His businesses in Norwich and Brighton too, the largest vegan restaurants in the U.K. are definitely in consideration. His coaching team, salary ( not in question ) club finances for transfers ( very much a consideration ) and immediate logistics for the new season are crucial. And as we said Martin won’t rush into a decision, because as yet he hasn’t made one regardless of what you read elsewhere.

The abuse Russell Martin took yesterday from a section of the MK Dons support was pretty foul and wouldn’t have endeared him to them, however he isn’t that blinkered, even with chants about his wife. Football fans are cruel at times in groups and on social media. Martin has had a very happy, and to an extent successful time at Stadium MK.

That decision we all hope for may well change in a minutes time or in an hour or a day, once his family are happy, and he is happy to commit then he will let Julian Winter know. However it’s a lot more than ‘ hurry up and get on with it ‘ Winter has to get this right as much as Martin does. The talks last night and this morning have come to an end, it’s time for some cooling off and reflection, so don’t expect an immediate decision, as we said it’s possible, but taking on board the information above it won’t be the rapid response all swans fans want.

Hopefully we will hear something later today, but for us it will come tomorrow at the earliest. Patience may well be running out, but this has to be right.
