Jazz Richards On His Way To Derby?

Reports today are suggesting that Derby County are on the trail of Swans defender Jazz Richards who looks set for a Liberty Stadium exit this summer.

The Rams - under the guidance of new manager Paul Clement - are reported to be lining up a £500,000 bid for the player who has never really settled into a routine of first team football at Swansea.

Richards himself admitted towards the end of last season that he may need to leave and after several spells away from the club in the past few years that event seems more and more likely especially with the reported signing of Franck Tabanou

"I'm 24 now so I need to be playing games," Richards told the Evening Post last month. "If you ask Garry Monk yourself, I think he'd understand if I said that."

Derby though are not expected to have it all their own way on their mission to land Richards' signature with QPR and Fulham also reported to be showing an interest in the Wales international

"It's important to get the game-time and if it's not here then it's going to have to be elsewhere, but obviously I'm a Swansea lad so this is where I want to be." added Richards

"I'm comfortable here, my family's here and I'm close with all the lads. I've grown up playing for Swansea and seen them come through the leagues. Now we're in the Premier League.

"Anyone who's seen a team do that, they're going to want to be a part of it, but we're going to have to see what happens."
