Laudrup Considered Cancelling Trip
Laudrup Considered Cancelling Trip

Michael Laudrup says that he did insist cancelling the Swans trip to Dubai after he discovered that striker Itay Schechter would not be able to travel with the squad.

Itay could not travel with the squad because of his Isralei passport and therefore missed out on the team trip that will end tomorrow when they return to this country.

And the Swans manager says he did insist cancelling the trip but decided against it.

Laudrup told the Western Mail: “Itay hadn’t been home for five months so I said to him to go back for these three or four days.

“Right now he’s happy being home with his family and training.

“Cancelling the trip was a possibility, but I thought we’d just made the arrangements and then would have to change.

“When we have to plan it then we will look into if all our players can come.

“But it depends if we’re going for three days or for 10 days.

“Pre-season would be completely different; I would never do anything like that.”

On-loan Kaiserslautern striker Shechter is thought to be training with former club Hapoel Tel Aviv while in Israel before meeting back up with the squad ahead of Sunday’s game.
