We Won't Sell. We Might Even Buy Wednesday, 22nd Dec 2010 14:49 So said David McNally chief executive at Norwich City. McNally was taking part in a "live" web chat with supporters on the club's official web site. In essence McNally gave the supporters what they wanted. Reassurances that the likes of Grant Holt would not be sold, even to a Premier League club. McNally also stated that there were no concerns over any of the players' contracts and, in reply to Wes Hoolahan's position, specifically, McNally stated that there would be no Bosman-type departures in January or July. There was foggy response to how Norwich City's current status in the league table might affect the seven year plan, although McNally did confirm that manager, Paul Lambert had submitted a list of players he would like to add to the squad. McNally said that the Board would be doing all that was possible to help the manager and the club. He did say that there was no need for outside help, financially, having recently rengotiated the club's outstanding loans with each creditor. Without a single doubt, whenever David McNally does speak to supporters he always manages to wrap the package in positives. How refreshing to hear that the Directors' ambitions as fans are being translated into affirmative action on the pitch. As qualified and as gentlemanly and affable as our previous chief executive was, we did not need constant reminding of "worse case scenarios". That is a matter for the boardroom, not the terraces.
