Dear Andrew I’d also like to plead / beg for you not to share your shares. Littleborough born and bred the Dale has been my only team since the age of six. I am now 43. It is and always will be whilst in existence my only club. At the age of six I attended my first match with my Grandad it was against Crew Alexander and yes we lost this was in the days of fans of just over 1000 vic Hallam was manger. The next year I was a mascot against Halifax Town we drew 1-1. My Grandad had arranged it for me as a treat, I still remember that day now, was one of the best days of my life. These where just two of many games I watched with my Grandad I still now from my seat in the Pearl street look at our spot in the Sandy Lane and in my mind see him, flat cap and a ploom of smoke from his pipe rising into the roof of the Stand. When I’m at Spotland I’m still with my Grandad January 13th 2007. Rochdale had recently sacked there manger and Keith Hill was in charge. My Dad Harry asked If I was going to the game. I was and he said he would like to come with me. We had a pre match pint in Pearl street bar and took our seats for the game. Rochdale played unbelievable football that day it was the start of no fear football. Sadly we lost to a certain Rikki Lambert goal. Me and my dad left that day purring of the football we had just seen. That was to be the very last thing with my dad. It was our last pint together, our last father son thing together, our last Dale game together. He died the following weekend from terminal prostate cancer. I will always remember Rochdale for giving me the last thing me and my dad did together. I have a son Zak, he’s 14 and attended his first Dale game at the age of four. He collects all his shirts from every season. It was only during the lockdown he went through them all and said he’d like to get them all framed. His favourite shirt is the one signed by all the players when we played Leeds UTD in the Fa Cup he was mascot like his dad had been. My phone, memories stories are full of our games together dads and lads trips away, him moaning at me when I’m being too negative!! Like me the club is in his blood. he won’t have the chance to watch the Dale with his Grandad but together we go for him, create our own memories and I hope like the generations before him he takes his son/ daughter and I can take my Grandchildren So that’s it, that’s my plea. This club is family, it’s memories, it’s passed through generations, it gives us more than football. Good people have helped that happen it’s roots values, love spread and passed through us all. It’s egacy can live on if allowed to be nurtured by those who love it for what it is. Please don’t sell your shares protect something that is much much more than what these people see it has. I know as a local man like myself deep down you know where the heart of this club needs to be with and a selling of the shares will lead to one thing Yours in hope SW |

To post an unsourced graph with two lines and not expect it to be questioned is naive. There is so little information it tells us nothing other than expenditure. We know Income is not just based on gate receipts or let’s face it we’d be part time. A quick look on companies house and the 30 page document on our last submitted accounts tells you why the graph has absolutely no credibility. I’d suggest people read that document first. Then if someone with an astute accountancy mind could summarise it, it would be much appreciated because the figures don’t look half as bad as what has been suggested in this post [Post edited 2 Dec 2019 23:21]

Thanks Col, The main concern reading that is the preparation, hopefully no hygiene issues were highlighted or if that was the case they were acted on immediately. Most stadium food is overpriced were ever you go now it seems the “norm” however, in years gone by the club produced decent quality, likely before it was outsourced to an external company. I’d just like a piping hot pie for my money and a decent brew. If you can keep us updated that would be much appreciated |

The results have still not been published. I completed the survey myself at the beginning of the season. Since the trust met with the board we’ve had no update. Can the trust put a statement out updating its members on the report and any followed up actions from meeting with the board? We all expect that the survey was not good reading, but any delay in publishing them only makes it worse and creates a feeling of apathy when asked to contribute to future surveys Personally I’ve seen no change in the quality of food. |

Having a fully fit Matty Lund back is like having a new player considering it's taken over a year to see the best of him with his injuries and I wouldn't be surprised if he catches the eye of a view scouts. What we need now is a fully fit Jamie Allan and we will have one hell of a midfield. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but wonder given the problems they caused us on the right if Scott Tanser would have been more suited at left back. Is he injured?? Enjoyed yesterday's game, first half passed us by a little after the first 20 minutes but the commitment in the second half was excellent. Chesterfield are a good team you only have to look at the names in their squad to see that. Unfortunately for us they sacked Dean Saunders who was doing a good job and making them average!! Searched again today. However today I asked the steward why I was being searched having been coming to the club for 30 years and only at the last two games this had happened. He said they had to search everyone to which I asked why a person at the turnstile next to me had just walked through without being searched. Answer; a blank response I then asked what exactly are you searching me for. Response the club says we have to. I explained I can't give consent to being searched unless I know. At which point he got a bit defensive as clearly he had no idea about consent and what that means, I said I'm not being obstructive but before I give my consent I want to know what he would be searching for. To cut a long story short he didn't have a clue and had to get his supervisor to explain. Pretty much sums up what a clueless ill thought out tick box exercise this whole process is |

Frig me. You don't have to do post match interviews as well do you 😬 |

Same themes but yeah. Alludes to the PV article in the programme, how it's hard for him to coach and nurture players when it's like this. It's the fans responsibility to re -connect. You can see where the GMR interview has come from. I think the interview had been brewing all week to be honest. Personally think the guy is a great manager the best I've seen in 30 years and what he's done for the club is magnificent. However would I have pint with him? No. when it comes to his media skills he's emotionally stunted and I'd prefer it if CB did them & this shroud waving of I could go does my nut in. Finally throw in the two T.V performances and the post match interview today, in footballing terms we've just scored an O.G in attracting fans for forthcoming games. On another note we won 3-1 today were not a bad team and I'll be damed if his time of the month post match comments are going to spoil my Sat night |

I wonder if this interview is done straight after the one for Dale player where Hilly goes on for 8 minutes about the fans. Unfortunately the tone is the set for the rest of the journalists. I don't think any fans want us to be compared with Bury and how they are going about their business good luck to them. Clearly what's been said on here has been read by many and sometimes criticism hurts but compared to previous seasons the football has been boring and predictable, which is more about the tactics than the players themselves. If that means there is a disconnect then he's probably right but hilly must also take responsibility for that. [Post edited 19 Dec 2015 19:36]

Well today was a first for me after 30 years of supporting the club I was searched for the first time. After showing my 8year old boy through his gate, a steward pulled me to the side. Expect this going away but never at home. Again it just seems to be a random thing. Is it it necessary given the attendance and the lack of trouble at home games by home supporters |

Whilst not one to post on here much, today I'm making an exception. Today was dire, it wasn't that we played badly but this season can be summed up in one word, "boring". Which is what it's been all season. Being one of those long suffering fans perhaps the last few seasons I've been spoilt with what I've seen. But today is a reflection of the whole season side pass after side pass with no end product by a side devoid of ideas. Every week seems to be a side tinkered on selection and players who cannot settle into the side. I hope it's a transition of players/squad but the no fear energetic football has been gone a while now. Thank God I'm not a season ticket holder because like many others I still want to be entertained, and like many others will be picking the games I attend |

I agree, que the obligatory crap of were a selling club, bla, bla. Fact is we didn't need to sell just now. People's perceptions will be reaffirmed small club no ambition.Least we can watch the rest of the season fizzle out as the club expect the usual hard core fans to continue coughing up there money. Not impressed at all |

Agree Tutte is a different player and has clearly improved. It wasn't so long ago that his career at Dale seemed over and now it's like having a new player. He was subbed at a time when we needed to try something different & credit to Scunthorpe I thought they were organised and defended well. Perhaps it didn't work last night but humble pie??? Remember Cheltenham and how the substitutions paid off when we needed to change the game In isolation can't complain about the sending off's both were Red cards, it was the inconsistency and the missed foul seconds before which make the decisions annoying. On another note just seen the goals on You Tube.......For the first goal Is anyone else at a loss as to what Lillis is trying to do punching the ball just outside the 6 yard box at chest height?? Guess we need to forget this one be thankful of a new Andrew Tutte and role on Saturday. KHBA |
