Another myth perpetuated by Welsh nationalists that it would raised billions. If wales refused to provide water all the dams would simply overflow into the rivers Severn, Dee and Wye where the Water companies could just pump it out for free and Wales would lose the current water abstraction fees. I guess England and Scotland could also charge extra for gas and oil transferred from the North Sea to Wales. England could also charge extra for all the food grown in the fertile lowlands of England. All nonsense of course they are all UK assets shared out around the UK. |

Yes Drakeford refused the government's offer of full funding as part of the UK national infrastructure programme. Although he was happy to accept UK tax payers money , via the EU, for upgrading the A465 as part of EU infrastructure programme. |
| Forum Reply | So these speed limits at 08:23 1 Feb 2025
The Welsh government figure say no such thing . They say serious injuries and deaths have fallen by 100 in 30mph and 20mph areas They have not actually broken down those figures into 20mph and 30mph let alone produced a figure for a reduction in deaths. The figures for q3 show of serious injuries 2% were deaths. Using the Welsh government figure of 100 fewer serios injuries that means 2 fewer deaths. But again no breakdown into seperate 20mph or 30mph areas. Accidents have been falling year or year. In the UK in q3 Road deaths also fell by 2% Uk serious injuries down 4% Uk deaths per billion miles travelled down 3% Uk casualties per billion miles travelled down 6% |

Yes do you? 80% of Welsh people want to remain part of the democratic UK. The majority of Wales, and a larger majority than the tiny majority that voted for the disaster that is devolution, voted the leave the undemocratic EU. |

It is easy when only one candidate on ballot paper plus a few of Putin's cronies. All opposition leaders have either been killed or locked up |

The waiting list for those waiting more than 2 years in Wales has gone up again to 24,000. |

Unfortunately human rights lawyers prevent quick decisions. Even foriegn criminals convicted of serious crimes can't be deported to their countries. All this paid for by legal aid and tax payers having to put then in expensive hotels. |

Seems Londoners did not object to a much bigger project that caused far more disruption. The east- west Elizabeth line much longer than the old oak common the Euston link. |

Any evidence we are all poorer because of Brexit or is that just your opinion. I suspect everyone in the EU has become poorer in the last 5 years, because of covid debts, energy crisis causesd by the Russian invasion of Ukraine . Unemployment higher in EU than UK, stagnant growth in EU, Germany in recession. |
| Forum Reply | So Trump isn’t God then at 09:33 21 Jan 2025
Amazing Trump has achieved more in one day than Starmer has achieved in six months. All Starmer has done is promised changes and improvements, after all areas of government will have reviews lasting months or even years. Rachel has of course killed all business growth with her £30 billion tax raid on business from April. |
| Forum Reply | Who is responsible for the Brexit fiasco? at 09:29 21 Jan 2025
It is called democracy something unheard of by the thick people in Russia. In 2024 150,000 Russian soldiers have died in Putin's undemocratic war. In the UK the majority of people voted to leave the undemocratic EU after listening to the case put forward by both the leavers and remainers. The EU is in a worst state than the UK with higher unemployment and a debt and immigration crisis. The UK share of the EU budget in 2023 would have been €24 billion and even more in 2024 and 2025 as the UK GDP has overtaken France and has grew faster than Germany in 2024. |
| Forum Reply | Who is responsible for the Brexit fiasco? at 09:36 17 Jan 2025
A great idea to leave an undemocratic EU This year alone the UK will save €24 billion which would have been the Uk's share of the EU budget. Still some people cannot accept a democratic decision. The EU is failing, Germany in recession, EU unemployment higher than the UK . |

Tax on company profits is collected centrally and is distributed nationwide. They proportion going to Wales is decided under the Barnett formula with Wales getting proportional more than England. It is just like VAT, NI, Income tax fuel duty, road tax all collected centrally. The more tax collected the more the government spend the more Wales gets. |
