| News Comment | Liverpool Fans Blame Southampton Stubbornness As Latest Lavia Bid Rejected at 19:35:39
If a club sets a price and rejects anything lower there is little point in bidding below as it's wasting everybody's time and unsettling the player. After say three lowball bids, the club should pull the plug and inform the bidder that no more bids will be accepted. Pay the price or just forget it. |
| News Comment | Does Saints Lack Of Yellow Cards Highlight Issues at 11:30:32
Personally I've always felt one of the fundamental problems we have, unlike the top teams and many others, who immediately take down any player trying to break against their defence when they are lacking numbers. Nearly always getting a yellow card but killing the break. We concede most of our goals. Newcastle, for exampl, e by just nibbling rather than ruthlessly stopping the break almost before it has begun. |
| News Comment | Nathan Jones Expected To Be Confirmed As Southampton Manager Today at 13:40:21
Give the bloke a fair go. His wife's family reportedly are season ticket holders plus her great grandfather played for Saints. I wonder what his name is. According to his interview he is emotionally connected to the club like the rest of us. His interview video was good. He has certainly done well at Luton. It may be well for us to remember that probably our greatest manager was a Norfolk country boy, Ted Bates, who took us from Div3 (S) to the old first division and provided us with some of the most exciting football in our complete history. I wonder who the great grandfather is. I'm for giving him our complete support. Anything else will be stupidity and we certainly don't need that. As for "Show us your medals" my response would be look at the league table because if you've got any medals it sure isn't working for you here. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Newcastle United The Verdict at 11:22:21
Yesterday was a mess. The team selection was poor. Square passing possession just inflates the figures giving a false impression. Maybe time for JWP to follow Ralph out the door plus Adams and A. Armstrong and bring in three proper forwards who are quick. Edozie should have had a start by now. We need to defend first and stop kamikaze attacking leaving the space behind for opponents to exploit on the break. I liked Ralph but yesterday I made my mind up looking at that team that to save us he has to go. There is no place in a team for flawed favourites such as Elyounoussi. |
