My main [although somewhat blurred] recollection of the home leg against Newcastle in the final was that it was my 21st birthday. My mates and I managed to smuggle a relatively large volume of alcohol into the ground. We were in the Archers and at one time had a lot of fun firing a few champagne corks at the Geordies [and yes we did give them a drink as well] -------- aaah good days.
Been watching Saints since November '59 [6th birthday] --- and still going [7th decade]
