| Forum Reply | Chair finally in the middle long term? at 17:16 5 Feb 2025
Chair did very well in the 10 role and no doubt he'll be used there more if he stays fit. But what was most notable for me was how much sharper he was than in his previous games since returning from his last injury. Looked considerably more fit suddenly. Great to see, it has taken some time. Just his finishing still not quite there. |

I think Marti is right to play the best players we have while we have them. I think Cook is going to have to get his form back quick otherwise Morrison may take his place. |

I think Madsen did better in his first games for us, when he passed the ball forward quick and accurately. Then he got a lot of flack for not tackling or running enough. Since then he looked like he had been told to do the defensive work but that came with what he was good at the quick passing, disappearing from his game. I hope he can get that back but more likely I think he'll move onto another League where football is played at a slower pace. |

I thought Edwards was our MOM at Wall playing most of the game at RB. Last night I thought he was clearly the best player on the pitch. Excellent performance, really enjoyed watching that and the whole game/result. |

Yes, I thought Edward's did well at RB and CB, and was our MoM over the whole game. Saito was very good getting past defenders and crossing when he came on, and he can give Paul better support defensively than Chair these days. There were huge amounts of space in front of Paal which Wall exploited. |
| Forum Reply | Chair new contract? at 14:34 26 Jan 2025
A bit like Andersen when he's played this season, Chair is way off his best and has been whenever he's played this season. His reactions, twist and turns, everything about him looks so much slower than he was before this season. I hope the Club are really sure this is all to do with his injuries, maybe Belgium legal problems, and he will be back at his best soon. Saito looks a more likely starter left side for Millwall, as do Smyth out right and Morgan at ten. [Post edited 26 Jan 14:35]

Marti told WLS he had not heard of any interest in Dunne from Sheffield United. |
| Forum Reply | If all fit and firing, who's first choice at CB? at 06:25 23 Jan 2025
For "a game of huge importance...for example a playoff game" I would expect Marti to select our best available fit right and left sided CB pairing. Whether they were owned or loaned wouldnt be a factor unless he couldn't otherwise separate a couple of players. |

Thought Hull gave us a tough game but despite all the travel in 4 days ,the poor pitch and the worry of being down to our last 2 CB's we fought our way to 3 more points. Great to see Saito get his well deserved goal for us and what a goal. Edwards was excellent, Paal very good, great corners, Fox, Dunne, Lloyd and Smith all good. Madsen did well in his defensive role when he came on. |

Good you mention Squash. Definitely the most physically demanding sport I've ever played. It's up there in the stats too. |

Agree, and especially so in retrospect when that draw for the next game would have given us a game with Man U. I thought that other than poor defending on the right side we played well 1st half and at half time thought we could win it if we brought Dunne on. I understand why the key players were rested, but as said they wouldn't have been for a League game. The League is rightly imo given priority but given our mid-table position and lower table PL opposition we had beaten already this year, we should have put out our best team as Leicester did. It was winnable. |

I watched it on a good stream, but for large parts of the game it was impossible to identify most of the players or see the ball. Certainly couldn't see their first goal and don't think the Commentator did either. It was only on a close up replay that I saw what happened,or didn't happen with our defending there. |

Then I imagined it too!! |
| Forum Reply | Madsen Mins at 18:28 9 Jan 2025
I remember Madsen playing a lot of great passes early season, feeding Smith in particular often with penetrating flicks into space out right. But he got sh*t for not tackling. More recently when he's come on as sub he seems much more involved in the press, has made successful tackles but his passing game hasn't been what it was. I want to see him making those passes again, think we need that more than the tacking, we have plenty others that can do that, but ideally of course he needs to do both. |

A couple did. |

Yes, Frey MOM for me. Scored, close to another, pulled their defence around making space, was both a link man spreading the ball about from midfield and hold up/target man up front. Tired a bit 2nd half but he had an excellent game. Chair ,getting better, Morgan, Field, Nardi and Dunne all had pretty good games. |
