The coldest/wettest you've ever been at a match
at 13:25 2 Jan 2025

I was at that Doncaster away match and yes that was a cold one.
Also that Oldham one that someone already mentioned.

A couple of others that stick in the mind, Pompey away on Boxing Day late 90s. Mike Sheron put us 1-0 up but then they scored 3 times. No roof, back or sides on the away stand so you just got hit by the wind coming off the Solent. Man, it was cold.

Another Boxing Day match, 3-3 away at Notts County, Gallen got a last minute equaliser.

Another cold one was home match against Coventry. They had a man sent off early on & it became one of *those* games where we were just shit and couldn't score even against 10 men. They scored (inevitably) near the end, and then Dexter Blackstock got a very late equaliser to give us an undeserved draw.
A terrible game of football played that was no fun to watch and I nearly froze to death in the process. Definitely one of those games that makes you question your life choices.

Another couple that spring to mind for wettest, Blackpool away. Helguson scored a couple, we won 3-0. I think it was Wayne Routledge's first game for us. Blackpool defenders just couldn't handle him or Lee Cook or Hogan Ephraim.

Another one around Xmas time was this home game v Sunderland in the Don Howe era. I was in the Paddock getting absolutely drenched but I can still visualise that Mark Falco winner like it was yesterday.

Jimmy Dunne

Alan McDonald's QPR career lasted 15 years and he made nearly 500 apperances.
Only 2 players in the entire history of our club have played more.

Nobody loves Jimmy Dunne more than me but he has been here 3 and a bit years, played about 130 times.
He is clearly a lovely bloke who cares about our club, and he is the heart of our team.
But he's not the new Macca.

The dinosaur triceratops lived on our planet from around 68 million years ago until they went extinct around 66 million years ago.

That is closer in time to where we are right now than when the stegosaurus was around.

according to this clown's logic, every pub called The Kings Head is advocating decapitating Charles just like his namesake in 1649.

can't stand Hoddle the man, he's an absolute bellend.

But as much as I dislike him as a person, he was a really exceptional player.

if anyone is seeing hints of Hoddle in Madsen then they must be watching an entirely different player to the one I've seen.

Never ceases to amaze me how Clive spends a lot of effort writing these match reports, and pretty much every time the first replies are from people quibbling about the marks given to the players.
It's ok, Clive is allowed to have a slightly different opinion to yours.

Love that.
The Mrs lived on Harvist Road when I first met her and I was working in Ladbroke Grove at the time.
Spent most of the late 90s in the Corrib Rest, the North Pole, the Salusbury, The Elgin, Paradise bar, William IV, the Western Arms etc etc etc.
Then get a post-pub curry at Curry Nights with a complimentary sambuca at the end and a rose for the lady.
