Swansea v bristol
at 15:34 22 Sep 2024

It’s not a bubble game, there could be Bristol fans on the train, i would imagine if there are there may be a bit of a BTP presence as well as the train passes through Cardiff en route.

I saw him playing for the U21 v QPR in December and he was probably one of the poorer players on show, he had several opportunities to score against QPR U21 and made a hash of all of them.

He might just have had a bad day, he was returning from injury but he looked pretty poor, i was quite disappointed by his performance and his poor ball skills.

Didn’t look anyway close to a first team player.

U21: Swansea City v Hull City Monday midday KO
at 17:38 4 Sep 2023

Went along again, a very good performance a decent crowd with plenty of families there.

Some very good players on show again, however no first team players involved this time. This is a marker by these young men and the type of pressing performance I would like to see from the 1st team.

Very hot conditions so it got a bit slower in the second half but a good performance overall.

Liam Smith MOM for me followed by Kyrell Wilson who had two but should have had a hat trick today.

NTO had a good performance, he took a little bit of time to get into the game but like all Dutch players has a good touch and passes and moves expecting the ball. Did track back well and not afraid to put his foot in. Made one excellent tackle in first half.

GInenlly looked very comfortable and unlucky not to get a few, he stepped on the ball 1st half when it looked easier to score. MYKOLO looked very raw but did get into good positions but was a bit like Shefki Kuqi when he hit the ball he has no idea where it is going, not anywhere near 1st team yet in my opinion but he did take his goal well but Ginnelly had put it on a plate for him.

Morgan came on to replace the 1st team players so had about 25 mins to get into game, a big lad and looks physically bigger than his team mates git the post and skied a few before taking his goal which was as a result of their keeper coming to play it out and getting closed down by Morgan. You can see he has something about him but nowhere near 1st team football yet in my opinion.

Sam Parker and Ben Blythe good wingbacks, Parker a little greedy on occasion but will be in 1st team at some stage.

Kyrell Mitchell came on with Morgan and was a tricky little winger, reminded me a bit of Routlidge and was unlucky to not pick up a goal

Abdulai and Congreve looked very comfortable and probably the best players out there.

Motorway Charging Points for EVs

Try inhaling CO2 and see how that goes, that Volvo study has been withdrawn by Volvo as untrue, i agree you shouldn’t get rid of a perfectly good car if it serves its purpose carry on until end of life,

Hydrogen is not the answer for motor vehicles but it might be for plant, HGV and PSV, otherwise electric BEV are the only current solution, I worked in the pipeline industry for many years where anyone will tell you the issues with trying to transport H2.

Tesla’s have been around for well over 12 years as a mainstream manufacturer there are plenty of Tesla’s around with in excess of 2-500,000 miles as a result of being used as Ubers etc still going strong.

I am not forcing anyone to ditch ICE for BEV but get your facts straight first.

Grid can cope, the rest of the stuff you have posted is nonsense.

This same conversation took place a century ago when ICE vehicles began replacing horse drawn vehicles, they will never have fuel in the countryside whilst hay is available everywhere.

The world has moved on, most vehicles are charged overnight, i am currently being paid by the grid to take excess energy into my home battery and EV.

The main issue here is that ICE are polluting the planet and something needs to be done, its not about you its about the future inhabitants of this planet that we should change our mindset.

Motorway Charging Points for EVs

The Nissan Leaf was introduced in 2010 and was the first proper attempt at an EV, all other EV’s use CCS.

PHEV - Plug in hybrids are nor really EV’s as they rely on a petrol engine so only use electric power at very low speed and over a very small range. They shouldn’t use anything other than a slow charger as the battery is so small and can only accept very low power at a low speed.

There are various different type of chargers eg
Slow chargers at home where you leave the vehicle overnight and slowly trickle charge.
Rapid where you want to leave the vehicle for a few hours ie at work, shopping, night out etc and can get a fairly quick charge but over a few hours and rapid chargers where you want to get as much charge in as quickly as possible ie such as a motorway services or trunk roads.

I charge my car at home once or twice a week depending on mileage i always do this overnight on a cheap tariff and its always full when i start my journey, i can usually get about 250 miles on a full charge which is plenty for me.

If i do a long journey i use rapid chargers when i go to use the loo which is usually about every few hours and about 200 miles or so. Would never go back to petrol now, love my EV.

All modern EV’s have CCS chargers/charging ports throughout Europe. The figment is exactly the same throughout Europe and most of the world other than the USA.

Tesla have by far and away the most effective, cost effective and numerous chargers in the world.

Tesla paid and built their network worldwide to make their cars far more attractive to potential buyers, they knew leaving it to governments or business would be too slow and probably not good enough.

Now Tesla have allowed owners of other EV’s to charge at some of their chargers this will benefit owners of EV’s but probably damage the competition for Tesla in the charging market or cause them to lower their prices/up their game to compete with Tesla.

Motorway services in S Wales are well served with EV chargers from a number of suppliers, it’s the A roads in the mid and west Wales areas where there is a gap.

Energy Companies

A straight lift from the fossil fuel supporting lobby, a lot of hot air literally. How anyone from the FF lobby can quote wind tidal and solar as damaging for the environment with a straight face is beyond me!

Norway is probably the best example of a country that has ample energy supplies in its oil, gas and thermal energy sources and has gone almost entirely green through thermal, solar and wind policies it has the highest uptake and use of EV and other alternative fuel vehicles.

Household battery systems are coming down in price and the ability to store solar or wind means that many households will be balancing the grid in the future by being part of a massive storage system that can be accessed by the grid during peak periods and refilled by the grid during night periods and or excess generation.

We share our national grid with Norway (both ways) fossil fuels are going to be very much a minor part of the energy system in the future….it is also running out so what is your plan once we have used all the fossil fuel, nuclear?

We had Martyn Margetson here under Cooper between 2019 & 2021 and we had a tremendous defence at the time until Russell Martin brought in Thornton and told Margetson his services were no longer required.

Margetson is still involved with the England team as far as I am aware and is obviously a good coach, i would have him back in an instant over any other GK coach.

He still lives locally too!

Lovely dogs, I had a Springer for many years, I was working outdoors and could take him with me most days, but they just need so much exercise and attention I can’t give at the moment, but I would love to get one again in the future.

Beautiful looking dog that Lifelong has, I saw a close up of him on the other site really bright looking dog.

As you say they can prove to be a regular at the Vets if not of good stock so well done on providing that service and advice.

Thanks Dicky, sorry I was a bit short with you, it is a bit stressful living so far away and not being able to support her in the way she always supported us.

She is 80 next week, we are not going to be able to anything with her and the day after that is the first anniversary of my fathers death. They were together 60 years and now she finds herself in this mess.

Online library services free
at 15:05 24 Mar 2020

All local authorities have had to close down libraries, they are almost all used as social hubs as much as anything, my Mother is almost 80 on her own since my dads death and isolated at the moment, the fact she can use FaceTime to speak to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is a boon however she loves reading and audiobooks.

This facility is a fantastic opportunity to download magazines, books and audiobooks the local authorities should be congratulated.

As has been pointed out the mobile van would no doubt provide an ideal virus spreader over a vast area to some of the most vulnerable people.

Not one of your best suggestions Dick.

For your info especially for those who are isolated at the moment.

Online library services are provided free to all residents within Wales by your local authorities, this includes access to e books, magazines, audiobooks etc.

Just search within your local authorities website for online library services register and away you go, I have used it for a while it’s pretty good.
Please log in to use all the site's facilities
