As the exodus of echo chamberlains continues in their droves over to BlueSky, something tells me that X will be fine as the virtuous big spenders look set to renew their advertising there post Trump's landslide victory: https://www.ft.com/content/34b6fc20-23f7-4e08-9ac4-ef05d5d66c13 https://www.adweek.com/media/advertisers-returning-to-x/ I sincerely hope the boost to BS gives it a foothold in the social media hierarchy as healthy competition generally improves the consumer's experience, and it's never a good thing for just a few to have a monopoly in any sector. However, judging by the performance with Threads and Mastodon the last time there was 'mass' attempt to abandon X I wouldn't hold my breath. |

"This is something we have been considering for a while given the often disturbing content promoted or found on the platform, including far-right conspiracy theories and racism. The US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse." Wow. Might as well just write what they're really thinking: "We liked X/Twitter back in the old days when it was an echo chamber of like minded leftist zealots focused on identity politics and intersectional fourth wave feminism, used by the elites in power to control information by labelling anything they regard as damaging to their narrative as disinformation or malinformation. We miss the mass perma-banning of all dissenting voices, whether they were the incumbent President of the United States, opponents to mandated vaccines, laptop conspiracy theory nutjobs or just some random who accidently dead named Caitlyn Jenner. We loved that back then the legacy mainstream media was able to use its influence to shape political discourse, and hoped to do so indefinitely. Despite professing to being an impartial journalistic publication, we were praying our preferred candidate Kamala Harris would win the US election so we could revel in her/our victory by mocking Elon, RFK Jr and Orange Man. However, seeing she has somehow lost spectacularly, despite her campaign spending millions on securing endorsements from Beyonce and Cardi B, we will now throw a hissy fit and announce our plans to leave X/Twitter, blaming it all on the far-right and racism because that'll make us look virtuous. Please join us; if you don't leave X/Twitter too you're basically Hit ler." |

The finale of The Penguin was sensational. I can't remember a show that's stuck the landing so brilliantly. |

As many quite rightly pointed out at the time, that debate escalated into the polarised mess that it was because it was the close season - now that the season is well and truly underway (unfortunately so in our case) people are much more focused on what's going on with the Rs. No need to resurrect it; although if Harris had miraculously won I'm pretty certain there'd be a wave of schadenfreude from certain elements of the crowd. It's over, he won, we move on - and it would be unfair to derail the original post of how to move to the US. I'm genuinely interested in how it's done too. |

This post has made my Monday morning mate - so good to read such positive experiences from visiting HQ, reminds me why I support this club. |

I knew it would happen, but not this quickly - it took 7 or so posts on the first page of this before it turned into Trump/Trump supporter bashing. Some kind of record surely. I pray everyone in Florida, red or blue, stays safe. |

Cannot recommend The Penguin enough. Very competent writing, superb acting (especially from Colin Farrell who I still can't believe is under that make up), and a great Yojimbo like mobster storyline. The young chap playing Vic in it is sensational, as is Christin Milioti who portrays Sofia Falcone. Only three eps in but I'm hooked and really hope it doesn't drop off towards the end. |

Writing off a player before it's even September, good one. It's the QPR way. Same mentality as those who booed Radek Cerny 5 minutes into his debut. |

Gary Bannister for me, he's the reason I fell in love with Rangers. All time fave is Macca though. |

I daresay there's a few on this very thread who would be openly clapping and agreeing with this vile behaviour. |

As you're so interested in his 'rants' (despite blocking him) his last post included the following paragraph: "The fact you're bleating on about racism to me - I have 2 mixed race children - I am far more concerned about Islamic extremism impacting their lives than I am about racism. Why can't you just accept that people have genuine concerns?" As always, thanks for your contribution to the discussion, I look forward to more of these erudite posts of yours in the future. |

I'd sooner have parents paying attention to their kids online activities and fulfilling their parental duties. You have to be 13 or older to open an X, Tik Tok or Facebook account yet for some reasons a vast number parents either allow or are oblivious to their young kids having accounts which they bring all the maturity of their age onto. |
