Great win,if there was ever a "character" that was it. Scoring so soon in the 2nd half set it up and thought Kholli deserved that as he was our best player in that 1st half. After his goal we just kept on pushing, and when Field missed that hance I really thought that it wasn't going to be our day. And then we had the double save... Then a superb cross from Chair and Jimmy at the back post, a lovely goal. Hard to pick a MOTM as there were so many decent performances.Thought Fox was immense when he came on, and being a left footer made it seemed we were better balanced. Varane, Smyth, Field and Dunne all good but for me it was Morgan, had a great game, this kid as got it all Fantastic win, spoiled by the Cook incident and there is no justice, for that to happen to such a player |

This is where Marti is going to have to earn his corn. Not sure how he is going to do it, but he as somehow going to have to lift this team The Paal miss really paled into insignificance compared to losing Cook and conceding from it. Kolli possibly our best player that half, but they all look flat and they all looked shell shocked... Basically a rotten half and not sure if they can come back |

Rumours around me saying Cook already on his way to hospital.... Way he went off looked like an achiles.... if it is that could be him for good... I really hope not |

That Cook incident could be a defining issue for the rest of the season. That as basically killed the atmosphere here at the ground... and really it should be 1-1, the Paal miss was an open goal. We need to somehow lift this game |

Feel your pain Dav...... wife booked tickets to Titanique in London, normally with 3 daughters to fall back on I can get one to sub me... bit to close to Christmas so no takers.... ... kids eh!!! So on the train to St Panc.. and now after the show we are meeting middle daughter and grandkids to "see the lights" ..... Had a text from brother and his boys in the ground and it seems pretty lively and packed our end.... think we will concede today, surely can't do 5 on the trot... 1-1 that will do me |

So positives... have to get back on that later... that was 45 minutes of shocking football, by both teams. Does it matter how many forwards we have injured, because whoever the poor sod is up front will not be able to impact anything. Was at one time here counting to see how many misplaced passes both teams played... stopped at many... Ahh a positive brother back with a cup of hot water cunni ngly disguised as a coffee ☕️ |

I've actually swopped the Monday 23rd with a mate so I could get here tonight... starting to think I must have been mad... this is shocking... not sure who is worse |
| Forum Reply | Paal at 14:42 9 Dec 2024
Agree.... I don't think he is 100% either, and we spent the summer scouring everywhere looking for a LB, and basically trying to off load him to Watford.... so I'm guessing he is not going to bust a gut He was possibly the only player to not down tools when the snake left as well, so I have a lot of time for Paal. Perhaps it is time he moved on, but I wouldn't be to unhappy if he stayed |

Totally agree with you regarding Norwich losing it. I said on the thread at half time it was a Corporal Jones moment of "They don't like it up 'em", they were rattled It was good to see us playing at such a high tempo, and pressing so well. The ref did seem to miss a few nasty challenges, there was also a stamp on one of our lads, can't remember who now, by the Stan stand, that should have been a yellow. The ref may have taken conditions into account as it was atrocious. [Post edited 9 Dec 8:46]

There you go... I stand corrected... I remember Marsh, Allen, Leach and Wilkes... but always thought Clarke was a little later |
| Forum Reply | Rs boo-boys at 16:49 8 Dec 2024
It was always Frank Clarke it seemed to me. Bought from Shrewsbury after our disastrous 1st season in the top flight. Scored a shed load of goals for Shrewsbury, and I think he became the brunt of our frustration after that season. |

We do seem to be a club that is blessed with picking up seasoned pros. From Jim Langley now to Cook and in between we have had Frank McClintock, David Webb, Ryan Nelsen. Ever present as well this season. |

Just started to write this here, and saw we have 6 mins of added time, and really it could be 10...................and we scored...................lol Well the game is like the weather here, frantic, and all over the place, but what a first half I can say hand on heart I have never seen us up for a game so much than in that first half. We have been all over Norwich and in the mortal words of Corporal Jones" They don't like it up 'em" We have been fantastic. Harrying and pressuring them, and they really do not know how to deal with it, a great watch JD just poetic that he scored and is having a great match..........Smyth if he had a final ball would be a premiership player. Never seen us work so har for this, and Kolli getting that 2nd just before half time is really the crown on top of the best half we have had at home The football was not as good as Watford last week, but by god have we worked, run, harried and pressured those 2 goals Great performance boys |

Just got back and without doubt I'm a far happier chappy than I was 7 days ago 4 points away from home, two clean sheets, and though Cardiff was a bit back to the wall ... today I thought we were the better team, certainly created the better chances. Disappointed though that given all our chances their keeper only really had that one save all game from Celar....so the others were poor misses. Thought Field had a great game and think we will miss him next week... honourable mentions the Smyth... if the lad could cross or pass straight he would be some player. Thought Varane when he came on was immense... and Dunne just wins everything in the air, his knocked downs/flicks must have created 2 or 3 chances, a real weapon. Too early to say that we may have turned the corner but we actually looked a team today .... and a decent one |

Not had a chance to read the thread as was late getting into the ground But for me think this is possibly the best we have played this season. We look good at the back and going forward we look a real threat. .... man of the half here though are the fans... we haven't stopped singing Couldn't see the hand ball shout as it was the opposite end but it did look like one, but hard to tell. The Morrisson miss also looked bad, but apart from scoring think we were far the better team, but we know what happens when you don't take your chances...... Feel a lot more positive about us.... than I did last week. A huge shout out to Jimmy Dunne... the guy win absolutely everything in the air.... he is causing havoc for Watford Sure Watford will come at us hard the 2nd half.... |

And here we are again...............staring at another defeat due to us being so far out of our depth in this league with this team. It is a poor reflection when your most productive forward is........Smyth and he is barely above useless. I was honestly thinking that Celar was just lacking confidence and before that penalty, though he didn't do a great deal, he looked lively, since that miss he as reverted back to kind..........hopeless The fare here is a true reflection of the weather, totally depressing and grim. We have played some decent football in these conditions, but again never looked like scoring. OK we have injuries but this is beyond belief that a professional club looks so bad in the final 3rd...... The 2nd half will degenerate into sh!thousery by Stoke, and they will most like come away with a 0-2 result............if that happens I expect Marti to be gone, if he had input in our summer signings he deserves to go, if he didn't, he will simply be the fall guy......... |
| Forum Reply | Rangers v the Oat Cake Eaters match thread at 15:40 23 Nov 2024
As I type this the sh!thousery starts...............the really galling thing about this is that we have played pretty well, but just don't look like scoring |
