| Forum Reply | Was it really just the other week at 22:58 28 Feb 2015
I haven't seen us a much as I'd have liked this season but I did watch today's game on a dodgy feed and unfortunatley, whilst pleased with the result, I was dismayed by the manner of which it was achiveved. Burnley were the better side and we were very fortunate with the manner of the winning goal. On the evidence of today and some other recent games we've gone from being one of the best footballing sides in the league to longball cloggers who can hardly string a pass together. In some way I admire Monk's pragmatism and tactics to grind out results but where has our vibrant free flowing football gone, with wide players tearing full-backs apart? Football is a results business of course but I believe the way that's achieved does matter too. They way we used to play, and praise we received, used to fill me with immense pride. I'm not sure I feel that way about us now. I'm not anti-Monk, how can you be with our league position, but with us now safe I hope he now takes times to consider our style of play and how it can be improved. He has inherited the best personnel of any Swansea manager don't forget. Other fans have noticed too, we used to be the darling of other fan's messageboards but no longer. O.k, it may not matter what the keyboard warriors think but we are being referred to as 'dire' and 'poor' by most teams now and the pundits will soon catch up. Our well deserved reputation is going to pot and that is hugely disapointing. |

Unfortunately he's not wrong on a lot of those points. |

Not say there's anything necessarily wrong but I think we're all pondering how wise Garry's, now seemingly permanent, appointment will turn out to be and how much of the squad will be here next season, or want to be here? Not feeling hugely excited after today's defeat though which Is more important than them lot going down for me. |

They must have realised it was inevitable after last week's result surely? I'm more concerned about us at the moment. |
| Forum Reply | Garry offered two year contract at 22:19 3 May 2014
After today's performance they should have had re-think, he hasn't inspired confidence at all, some of the other games have been poor too, even the ones we've won. The squad seems in disharmony as well, half of them can't be arsed or want out I think. We should have better aspirations than just staying up, we did in our first two seasons in the league. |

F*@ks sake, Monk has done the job of keeping us up but he can't get the job full time. Abject performance, we're probably going to finish 15th - 17th now, how attractive is that to potential managers and players? [Post edited 3 May 2014 16:58]

I think we're all doom and gloomers when things aren't going well, that's the nature of football fans. This message board is relatively sane compared to other clubs' ive seen! I didn't think we'd win today but ecstatic to be proved wrong. WE ARE STAYING UP! Some re-building and re-organizing to do in the summer of course, but we still have the core of a good Premier League team. The trouble makers in the squad need to either commit or go however and some strengthening is needed in key areas. Let's enjoy tonight though! |

Not the most inspiring line up, speculation on Twitter that Michu won't play for the club again, personally i think this 'injury' is a cover up, he doesn't seem happy here. Can't see us winning this and if any below us win we're in massive trobule, hope i'm proved wrong of course. Anyone else want to see N'Gog, given a go!? |
| Forum Reply | Should we have fielded our best team tonight !?! at 23:33 28 Nov 2013
As much as I like Tremmel he made a mistake tonight in flapping with that ball which led to their goal and give a pen away against Kuban. If we had played Vorm we'd be through now. Goalkeepes don't need a rest surely? |
| Forum Reply | Anyone still think Leon Britton is good enough at 23:20 28 Nov 2013
Don't know why people are having a go at Leon, he was as hard working as ever tonite, certainly wasn't worse than others. England are playing Tom Cleverley in central midfield so yes he could get in there. Hodgeson picks players based on their club and not ability, apart from flavour of the month Southampton at the moment. |

Valencia so not have the star names anymore but they are stll a big name. Our underwhelming performance took the edge of the occasion. It's not a disaster to finish 2nd but we want to progress as far as we can so I'm disappointed with tonight's result. We're not through yet either. The sense of pride we got in beating Valencia away is gone now, particularly for those who went to the Mestalla. It'll just seem a fluke to therest of Europe now as our other performances have been poor. We should be playing a full side in the competition, how often are we going to be in Europe? |
| Forum Reply | So where's the official Swans v Stoke matchday thread then? at 16:51 10 Nov 2013
This is unacceptable, with Sunderland seemingly showing signs of life we're in big trouble now. We can't expect to win PL games by starting Lamah and Pozeulo. Most of Laudrup's signings are atrocious, with a few obvious exceptions. He will be gone by Christmas, he hasn't the stomach for a fight. |
| Forum Reply | Vorm's sending off at 18:42 3 Nov 2013
I don't think Campbell would have got to the ball so a red may be harsh surely the ref needs to be sure to send Vorm off? Didn't make any difference to the game today but his suspension will hurt us. Hopefully Tremmel has learned when to come off his line and when not to. |
| Forum Reply | 2 minutes of injury time lost at 18:24 3 Nov 2013
Good point, it may have given us one more chance. Clutching at straws yes but refs should realise you have to add time in stoppage time if there's an incident. |
| Forum Reply | Read this before you go into a meltdown at 18:18 3 Nov 2013
Don't think we can pick out Dyer and Routledge, theyve been good servants in the PL for us. They all carry the can today, Shelvey a big mistake again. Stoke game is now massive and we're traveling half way around the world first, fantastic! |
| Forum Reply | Laudrup at 18:09 3 Nov 2013
I'm more disappointed about the performance than local pride.Cardiff are bang average for this league but we were piss poor and you have to worry about where we go from here? We look tired already and Laudrup's new signings are either shit or don't fit into the team.Subs choices were awful today too. |
| Forum Reply | Europa League Table. Are we safe? at 15:35 25 Oct 2013
We're in trouble now I think, we did not play particularly well against Fallenand Kuban at home so it will be that much harder away, by no means guaranteed results there. Play like we did last night against Valencia and they'll tear us to shreds. We need to play our strongest side now, we'll be o.k in the league anyway so lets give the Europa a real go I say. |
| Forum Reply | Tremmel at 04:40 25 Oct 2013
He was far too slow coming off his line, he's a great shot stopper but he doesn't know when to to come for the ball or when to stay put. |
| Forum Reply | Jonjo Shelvey at 03:53 25 Oct 2013
He played reasonably well tonight but his two major contributions were missing a sitter and giving the ball away at the end which lead to us conceding the penalty. His howlers outweigh his good points, that's why Liverpool got rid. |
