Interesting line from the Daily Mail today:
{i}Blackpool, without a manager and only a smattering of professional players on their books, were unusually forthcoming with the bid, given they normal conduct all business behind closed doors.
They did not divulge any further information, but claimed no other offer under this concealed amount would even be considered — something that sets the tone ahead of BST’s proposals in June.
Taken on face value, the statement contradicts Oyston’s previous utterings that the club is not for sale. |

.. of the timescale that we would need to bring in players by the start of training and by the start of the season. Needless to say we didn't reach anywhere near what we needed to but it'd be good to see it back this summer just to remind us all of how many bodies we need in. |

Just found this thread from last year and I think the tweet below shows how a club can go from being at the top of the game to quickly fading away .. admire them for going for a Real Madrid coach but can't see it working.

There is so much negativity around at the moment and I think Richie would do a decent job as long as he had the right people around him. Deserves to be rewarded for the work he's done although having seen some of his brightest young things walk out of the door am amazed he's not followed suit! |

Thread | Can the NAPM who travel away complain if we're crap?

This has been a bit of a bugbear of mine for some time now as to whether those who describe themselves as NAPM (Not a Penny More) say they'll go and watch Blackpool away from home but won't put a penny in the Oyston's pockets.
I totally understand this and if I didn't love watching Blackpool and meet up with my mates on a Saturday might join them. However, I was at Derby earlier in the year when we were royally stuffed and my afternoon started listening to four guys in front of me say how they'd not gone in Bloomfield Road all season, they hated Oyston, thought Clark was a puppet and asked where was the investment in the team?
So here's the question - if you're funding other sides by going to away games and starving your own club of funds (even though we know they aren't short of a few bob) have you got a right to complain if that side is crap? |

For a first effort you really couldn't knock it. Was nice to be at an event somewhere other than Bloomfield Road, the room was excellently decorated and designed, to get the Prem team there was just the icing on the cake and gave the event some real gravitas, speeches were excellent and the auction well organised (even if a bit exclusive - was out of my price range) and was a fabulous first effort.
Only negatives (and not so much negatives as observations) - wasn't that impressed by the food if I'm honest and felt the event could have done with a professional MC (no disrespect to those on the microphones but it 'went on a bit'!!) |
