The longer it went the happier Brighton were to settle for a draw. Interesting to see them playing out from the back so much, which seems a bit risky but with only Austin up front they got away with it...most of the time.
Although Barton's delivery is better than previous seasons still a bit inconsistent to me.

Certainly a better 2nd half performance than 1st & Zamora provided more presence up front & won plenty of headers. So frustrating to miss a pen' & Cesar had a few important saves to makes as well. Latest in a series of "must win" games that haven't been won. |

Well looks like MH et al have not so much lost the dressing room as cast it adrift on a desert island! He say's the team is too passive & lacks intensity, where do they get that from I suppose??? Get them running run the scrubs @ 7:00am on Monday morning that might wake them up a bit!

Tevez should have sent 0ff as well & Barton should now better to retaliate & then go quickly & quietly (Derry @ Man U)once he got the red.
Mission accomplished though & we would all have settled for that at the start of the season. Perhaps some justice though over the disallowed "goal" @ Bolton?
Very interesting decisions for Mark Hughes now in re-shaping the squad. Onwards & Upwards...

Rangers really have been on the end of some atrocious decisions this season & yesterday was yet another example. Probably wouldn't have altered the final result but makes it just that bit harder for any of the 10 men who may have to play again on Wed', which was always going to be the more important of the two games. I just hope any red card appeal from the club for Derry isn't considered frivolous?
Hopefully the title race being effectively over may work in our favour, but vital to take 3 points from the Swans who will be playing with no pressure. A repeat of last seasons 4-0 would be nice! |

Whilst I would have settled for a point before the game, going 2-0 up makes the draw disappointing & I can't help thinking we should have got more than the 2 points from both games against them this season. |

what a relief...
All seemed to be invigorated after the slow start & SWP looked much more positive in taking players on, DJ looked more mobile than Bothroyd although not much better in front of goal. Can Buzsaky get fit for enough the whole 90 minutes & consistently perform at the that level? Will make it interesting when Taarabt comes back?
Very good goals & a bit harsh to criticise PK on their free kick I thought?? |

We can't complain as a win in the cup makes a nice change....but I was sitting there last night watching the game thinking how is this team going to get another 25+ points needed to stay in the Premiership...? |

Good enough start as you might expect under a new Manager & looked more compact in the 4-4-2. All seemed to change after the Cabaye foul & always difficult to come back after going a goal behind. Better defending but still not enough of a goal threat & creativity going forward.
Apparently MH only won 2 of his first 18 games at Fulham....gulp! |
