I'd just like to point out there's nothing wrong with a weekend in Bath

Improved QPR within whisker of shocking Norwich - Report
at 20:24:56

Great report as always.

Perhaps someone with a better understanding of the laws can confirm or deny, but was Norwich's goal disallowed because Cantwell was offside when the ball was played through to Pukki (who was onside). Cantwell then became active when Pukki passed across to him and was therefore given offside?

Slow news day — preview
at 10:08:30

"It remains the finest goal ever scored by any footballer in any football match anywhere in the world ever in the history of the sport."

I agree. I always think if Messi or Maradona or Pele scored the exact same goal in the World Cup Final, there would be no doubt that it would be described as the greatest goal ever. Unfortunately, because it was scored by a player for a 2nd tier team against another 2nd tier team in an early round of the FA Cup means it seems to be largely forgotten about outside of West London (and maybe South Yorkshire).

Great preview column again, as always.

A Knight’s tale, memories of Leon and 1966 as Swans visit — history
at 11:20:15

"Booked: Taiwo (tackling a man with his face), Diakite (hacking a man’s leg off)"

Still makes me laugh out loud.

QPR's home record against Swansea is exceptional, perhaps better than against any other team? Let's hope it continues.

Diakite deal doubts, season tickets, Bhatia’s regret — diary
at 19:34:52

Hmm. There is a 10 game clause and he only play 9 games before he is ruled out with a mystery virus - it smells fishier than a Grimsby girl's knickers. I wonder if QPR had been safe by that stage, would he have played the remaining games? With the threat of relegation still present, if QPR had gone down maybe one or both parties would have ended up with a transfer that they didn't want to go through with. Hope he signs now that we have stayed up.

Good luck to Ramage and Cook. Wish them every success in their future careers.

Relief v Stoke, but it's out of our hands now — guest column
at 18:10:15

I certainly agree that Cerny did a good job when he was called up to play this season and Kenny has let in some poor goals too (can't comment on whether his form has got worse since January because I haven't been to enough games), but I would think that if Cerny was able to do a better job than Kenny, he'd already be in the team. I'm sure I've seen some other comments that he's not 100% fit.

Nov77 - those stats were compiled in January so are well out-of date. Would be interesting to see an updated table but I'd be surprised if Cerny replaces Kenny for Sunday. Also, it states at the bottom of the page: "it bears reminding that these numbers don't reflect the quality of the goalkeeper, but the quality of the defence in front of them."

Memories of Ferdinand, Ready and Wegerle as QPR head to Blackburn — history
at 10:53:09

I know he was only on loan so not sure if he would count in a worst XI (and may also be before your time) but Gus Caeser was the worst centre back I saw play for QPR. He was so bad, the other players wouldn't even pass the ball to him during the pre-match warm up!

Monday Diary — Rowlands loaned out, Traore faces Warnock wrath

Good luck to Martin Rowlands. He has been a great player for QPR and such a shame he missed out on the last couple of years through injuries. Hopefully he can rejuvinate his career at Wycombe.

Weekend Diary — QPR win in Europe again
at 15:21:46

headhoops - according to the article Gabbidon and Dyer both played the full 45 minutes of the first game before being subbed in the second game (as did Smith and Faurlin by the way) so I wouldn't take this as meaning they went off because they were unable to continue.

QPR’s Premiership Years — The ten worst moments
at 10:07:32

Ah yes, that defeat to Stockport in the cup. After the 3rd round draw had been made, I told my girlfriend that I would propose to her when we got knocked out of the FA Cup, having some crazy dream of QPR winning the FA Cup and getting engaged on the same day. After QPR had scuppered that, I had a long pensive train journey back to London from Stockport. But I was true to my word and we've just had our 15th wedding anniversary (awww) so maybe I would have to take that out of the worst moments (especially if she's reading this, ahem).

I also had my stag night the day we beat West Ham but went down. Ironic how some of QPR's worst moments have coincided with key moments in my married life.

Hopefully promotion doesn't mean divorce is imminent.

Rather than starting with Hulse and Miller, I guess Warnock may opt to start with Vaagan Moen in place of Smith and Buzsaky on the bench?

Thanks for the report (excellent as always). I believe that was Faurlin's 5th yellow card of the season which would mean he is suspended for the Coventry game regardless of whether he is fit or not, wouldn't it?

Health and safety nonsense hovers over Hull trip — full match preview
at 11:40:16

Great preview as usual and I agree with the Health & Safety points. Whereas when I grew up people used common sense, unfortunately now we seem to live in a blame culture, and if someone sustains an injury they look to sue for compensation, hence all these health and safety regulations. Pity that you can't counter sue for stupidity.

In Bath we've had about half an inch of snow in total and the news doesn't cover everywhere so apologies for not really knowing the situation in other parts of the country. But seeing as how the UK's transport infrastructure usually collapses when there is any amount of snow and ice (unlike Norway and many other countries), if the game were on, would the QPR team bus be able to get to Hull from London? If the team played well below par and lost because their bus had to be abandoned after getting stuck on a road somewhere for several hours, I expect there would be loads of people complaining that the game should have been called off. Just a thought.
