Fair points owder.. hopefully we'll still have Hughes & Brayford. both top players.
You're right about the 'silly' points that were thrown away last year, if we can tighten up at the back & pinch some more goals.. then I don't think we'll be too far off....
I wonder how the 'skipper' will be when he returns ?? |

Oh my goodness.. I don't know why, but I have a certain feeling I believe is a condition called optimism.. not really known amongst us Ram's followers for a while ?! But why I hear you ask ?... well.. are the pieces of the teams' jigsaw finally coming into place (cliche # 22).. a potentialy good striker, a decent keeper, a young LB on the horizon & maybe a couple more decent 'spine of the team' signings before the new season starts..
Also, on a broader point we're seeing youngsters coming up from the ranks & possiby a pattern of play from the youngest to the first team.. even Man Citeh, Chelski & others are starting to talk in such terms ?

Apologies for being the bearer of good news.. but.. our under 18's beat Man Citeh 2-0 last night & now face big spenders Chelski in the next round.
Well done to all involved and great to see some 'potential' players for the near future and longer term.
How dare we have plans in place for years to come that won't break the club financially..... Clough out !! |

Disappointed he's going but if genuine reasons... so be it.. if it's just for money then I think we'll all feel let down after we've supported him for so long with his injuries. Real shame after the progress last year & now we could lose top scorer & 'top' defender. This will be a good test of the support & desire of the board to support Nigel in his plans to push on..! |

Taffy I didn't say we would get £10m+ plus for our players but the model is the same... bring though the youngsters.. sell them for a large fee & then use the money wisely as Clough has done with Theo, Ward, Shacks, etc...... it comes down to managerial skills & whether we believe NC is up to the job.. I know I'm probably in the minority but I think he will come good & get us into the premier without foundations based on sand like last time ! |

Allthough it would be disappointing to lose a young star like Jeff.. it has been the recent business model for Reading & Southampton to sell at a 'high price' & buy quality at a cheaper price & develop a team.... could be the money we need to fill 2/3 positions & head for the top 6 next season ? Yep great review of the season
As a long time Ram's fan I'm glad we're making steady progress. We've seen the shame of getting into the premier league too soon & I can even remember putting money into buckets on the popside durng some real dark days !
I'm disappointed when we don't win every game, but we are seeing better players now than 12 months ago, youngsters of quality coming through & some sort of strategy which doesn't includ going bust......

So what do we think ?
I'll give it a 7/10 mark as there are slow but sure signs of improvement.
Plenty yet to do but some real plus's with Bryson & Shackell proving to be great signings & good efforts by Fielding, Roberts, Hendrick,Theo, Davies (S) & Wardy
We definately need cover at LB, MF & a new striker is a must....
So next season... what's our target.. minimum top 6 ? |

Really time for the players to 'walk the walk' & not just 'talk the talk'!

We have reached the same number of points as we finished with last season.. and yet 12 games still to go. This does show improvement, maybe steady & not earth shattering & I think we have to realise that this is the 'Clough' way... sound foundations, no stupid transfer fees or wages paid & it's evolution as opposed to revolution... |

We seem to be slipping to a season end of lacklustre performances, nothing really to look forward to but promises of 'milk tomorrow' if you buy your season tickets again.... hmm I think the plan is fine... but call me when the products ready ! |
