Swansea City : New changes already, redundancies, ticket office & a mysterious kit supplier emerges 11th Apr 2025 07:20
There seems to be some decisive action taken by new Swans CEO, Tom Gorringe. News which we now think puts the academy review in danger of becoming a reality with Landore potentially being sold off. 1

Worrying times and really bad that they are axing jobs at the bottom level.
Plus talk of selling Landore training ground ?
Outsourcing the merchandise sales
Also not sure if I understood it right but is the ticket office moving inside the shop ?
Ala the old one at William Street
I understand Marlene and Myra have gone to the Swans Shop in the sky, but met Joyce not too long ago.
If she is still going strong, maybe she could be lured out of retirement?

Nothing will surprise me.

For years now it does seem like save a penny and then waste a pound.

It would be a shame to lose Landore training ground as it is more central for youngsters who haven't got expensive cars.

Reality says that it was a mistake to have two training facilities in the first place.

Looking through the licenced section on the Terrace website it seems only gifts/novelties are on sale for clubs. I can't find and branded items for any clubs, as with Joma for us kits leisure wear ect. Are we going to have a branded supplier or or is Terrace going to provide everything, the supporters of the clubs they licence for seem to be wearing branded licenced items.

Our current owners are the same as the previous.

They all disgust me.

So cut jobs at the top and some of the deadwood from the playing staff
Then you are talking some serious savings
Plus start doing some serious thinking on how to get the fans in and re engage with them
Charging them an arm and a leg to go to Sunderland isn't it

I said in another thread why on earth aren't we giving tickets to schools get the kids in its far better than row after row of empty seats.

Do people physically use the ticket office these days?

On match day the club shop is roofed, there is often a large queue at the ticket office picking up tickets. If both are combined into the club shop it will be chaos. Not that the powers that be would understand this, to busy enjoying the hospitality without queueing.

"Ken Gude will assume the role of Executive Director and Company Secretary, transitioning from his previous role as Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy. His new position will allow him to further drive the club's strategic initiatives and football operations, while also liaising at the League level and coordinating with key stakeholders."

Save the pennies and waste the pounds springs to mind.

Coleman said he brought this lot in to move the club forward, looks like moving it backwards, anyone thinking of them bringing in quality in the summer need to think again by looks of it.
Gorringe guy seems a beaut as well, jury is out on Montague for me as well, I don't trust any of them and I certainly don't believe what they say.

What do they do if this is a disaster and even more fans walk away?

We're in the same downward spiral as last year, Sheehan has headed reegation off this year but we'll still be screwed next season.

Exactly. The ticket office should be separate, open more hours, and cash taken.
Tickets should be available for home and away fans on match day.

I will put this out there. If I couldnā€™t sell 500 tickets on match day, cash desk included, I would eat my hat. Market it properly, make it easy , and they would fly out.

Regarding turnstiles. Almost half are shut on match day?
Why? I know a guy very well who worked on the turnstiles since the ground opened. He just did football games. He got paid from 1.00pm until 3.30pm, and had a match ticket thrown in. Minimum wage.
Pre season, him and lots of others were told that they would now be paid from 1.30pm - 3.00pm, with no match ticket.
Guess what? He quit.
Thatā€™s down to Coleman.

If they've looked at usage of Fairwood and identified it's not fully occupied with a lot of empty time spots, then moving the academy there with Better facilities would make sense, only if it doesn't mean less quality time on training or less academy teams. I suspect seniors and U21's predominantly train mornings and early afternoons and U18 academy teams (and below) training late afternoons/early evenings. So the timings could work. The sale of Landore could certainly boost the coffers if it's deemed surplus to requirements.

With regards to redundancies, it's the harsh reality of the business world and whenever a new CEO is appointed it normally starts with a review of how costs can be cut and processed and be made leaner. That's not to say I think closing the ticket office is a good idea. However selling tickets in the club shop as well as the ticket office could improve customer experience as you could now get a ticket and merchandise and only have to queue once.

As for the new kit supplier.... It wouldn't at all surprise me if you found a link between The Terrace and Gorringe. Is he a nin-exec.board member? Inverter? Or was he at uni with the founder Sewell?? Something doesn't smell right that Gorringe appears to be a very loyal customer to "The Terrace" wherever he goes.

Go on the Terrace website and see if you can find kits for any of the clubs they sell merchandise for I can't. This is why I questioned this further up the thread. It looks as if they supply only gifts/novelties and some leisure wear. Kits, training wear and branded [Joma for us] leisure wear is not available.

Well if the Ospreys stuff is moving out theres ome extra room available, being an oldie I would like to see some sort of return of a scection where other clubs pin badges etc would be available, proper fans/collectors and kids would love it.
