First Dark Sky Nation 08:56 - Jan 16 with 2033 views | union_jack | Talk of making Wales the first dark sky nation in the world after some experiment in Presteigne. So we are literally returning to the Dark Ages. Anyway, I thought North Korea could claim that. The similarities with them is becoming greater every day.

Absolutely, but to make all of Wales a dark sky area seems a bit OTT. There’ll be curfews next😂

Which half , yours or mine , I quite like living in a City where dark alleys no longer exist , where women can feel safe walking on lit pavements etc. If people as I do want to look at dark skies they don't have to travel far to do so , up onto the black mountains , the road between Penderyn and Nant Ddu has some specular views , so why we now have to return to the era of gas lights and a guy with a long pole to existence them beats me . I wonder if Kilkenny believes its a goof idea and fits into his view of a modern Wales

First Dark Sky Nation on 14:15 - Jan 16 with 1483 views | Gwyn737 | This all seems a bit odd. Can anyone see where it states Wales is going to turn all the lights out everywhere and live in the dark?
First Dark Sky Nation on 14:17 - Jan 16 with 1482 views | builthjack | Ah, yet another political answer off the usual suspects. You can still see clearly in Presteigne you know. One third of the normal electricity bill. Win win. Unless you have shares in the electric companies.

We have them on our estate. On every other street light from 12 midnight onwards.

I have never thought about it. I will say this though …… if you are against an idea then its almost certainly a very fine idea. Your track record is abysmal.

First Dark Sky Nation on 23:07 - Jan 16 with 1232 views | majorraglan | I’m ve not seen anything on this in the media. There’s nothing wrong in having a sensible approach to dark skies and street lighting. There’s plenty of places where dimming or turning the lights off after a set time would be sensible, and equally there are ther places where the lights should be kept on. A fair few years ago I sent time in the South Island of New Zealand, the stars at night were a sight to behold.

I post on a football website just like you. The difference is i can see a future that is better than today, whereas you are a small c conservative who wants nothing to change ever. You want the George Thomas model of a patronised ‘pat on the head’ Wales, luckily nobody else wants that. Maybe best to heed some good advice …. and only post half sensible stuff.
