Benda has worked as number two to Woodman under Margetson before. If Benda was the main man Swansea would have signed Rushworth for 6 months not one year. A one year deal meant Benda was no 2 again and unlikely to sign a new deal.

How do you know what Margetson thinks? He may think Benda is a better player and it could be a case of the powers that be have overruled him and the management team on account of a desire to cash in on a injured player who is in the last year of his contract and who may have indicated he’s not prepared to sign a new deal. Benda is still only 24 which is young for a keeper. | | | |

I’m sure it’s just about having a third choice keeper. Fisher is fine as a backup. Benda is too good for that really (although I’m sure that’s what he’ll do at Fulham).
He’s injured, contract is running down and they are offering a decent fee.
