Talking to my mate about this does anyone else remember this game or am I dreaming they called the game off on the Saturday because of bad weather or electric problem and rearranged for the next day because all the players and fans were already in Swansea

Don’t recall that.

Has a look. There is some footage of Newcastle beating the Swans on a Sunday with the commentary talking about Newcastle fans staying over an extra 24 hours. ðŸ‘

The game was played on 16th October 1983 which was a Sunday.
I think very few games were played on a Sunday then ?
So you may well be right
Newcastle won 2 - 1 and the return game 3 - 0

Yes I remember it we were on our way down at this point would of been 3 relegations on the bounce were it not for Jimmy Rimmer against Bristol city the following season.

I dread to think how some on here would cope back then.

Yes agree with that cannot think of another club that has had what we have had.

3 promotions in 4 seasons followed by 3 relegations in 4 seasons.

Play off finals,auto glass trips to Wembley and the millenium.

Chuck in another 3 promotions back to the PL.

European trips via the old Welsh Cup and more recently the League Cup win.

And nearly forgot the last day win over Hull.

No complaints from me just a little lull for now but we will go again.
