A Week To Go ... on 18:14 - Feb 10 with 2165 views | sw02sea | If Martin stays, I won’t be renewing, and I’ve got a premium seat on the halfway line. Plus it’s my protest against the owners lack of backing this and previous managers
A Week To Go ... on 18:41 - Feb 10 with 2131 views | SullutaCreturned | Nope, still haven't. My son wants to and is nagging so I'll probably give in but I'm really not that interested in watching more of this dross with the owners feeding us continual BS too. I have better things to do than be bored senseless on a Saturday afternoon. The garden needs doing, we need to paint or there's always shopping to do.

Same ya..Martins football is so boring.. its like watching walking football..plus the owners want our money and give sweet.f.a. back
A Week To Go ... on 19:02 - Feb 10 with 2112 views | Swans9 | Interesting to see if the fans sticking up for the owners will feel the same when we playing as Swansea u18 and going down the league's. When you go to away games and spend a lot following the club you just want the club to be competitive. Prem still aim while club gets rinsed. Alan Curtis please salvage the kettle on the way out.

A Week To Go ... on 19:44 - Feb 10 with 2080 views | jeza739 | I renewed for myself and son , we've had ST since moving to the Liberty. About a week later he says his job is taking him to S E of Eng !! We'll see how many games I/we see next season. I moved to Cardiff 7 years ago so a 90m round trip to sit on my own is not that appealing tbh, esp with the current on and off the field matters. Have been getting increasingly indifferent since yanks took over if I'm honest... | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A Week To Go ... on 20:46 - Feb 10 with 2029 views | bonymine | After much deliberation finally decided not to renew. First had a season back in 1976 with my Dad in the old double decker. A bit torn regarding the social aspect more than anything with my mates and other long-standing STH’s around me but have to admit the lack of enjoyment and overriding frustration in watching us play these days has made my mind up. Also retirement now means that more time will be spent with our first grandchild and also in the throes of purchasing a static caravan in West Wales for quality time and solitude away from Swansea so all in all a lifestyle change as much as anything else.

Knowing your devotion to the game from our chats recently I know you loved the whole thing mate, therefore I find this extremely poignant.

I'm certainly not sticking up for the owners but will be renewing , not for the owners benefit and perhaps this is naive but someone's got to contribute to the wages of people employed by the Club and I don't mean the players but the cleaners etc , as I say naive .

Exactly what the owners have done in putting in £16m. To give you a visual on how much that money is. Your £400 you spend this season on tickets and merch in order to as you say, help pay the bills: You would have to do the same for 40,000 years continuously in order to match what they put in. Not sure if you are religious, but think how far back Jesus was said to walk the earth from todays date…. Do that 20 times over.

It’s most certainly been a tough call Keith. Likelihood is that I will attend c 10/15 home games next season when the opportunity arises but my overriding emotion is that at my stage in life there is so much more to fulfill my life other than the Swans. I have done the Toshack years as a kid, had a season ticket with my boys since the Liberty opened with it's highs and lows and now I feel the time is right to expand my horizons given the blessing of a first grandchild and more leisure time following retirement. Whatever the future holds I am well and truly a JB for life 👊👊👊

I'm impressed , I truly am , at just how many threads you can contribute by repeating the yanks put 16 million of their own money , they didn't , but I did add my measly contribution , how about you ?

That’s because there is endless threads about how they aren’t putting money in. They did, factually, at levels greater than any owners in our history. If people wish to spread continuous mistruths then you can’t really get annoyed by continuous corrections. As for me, it costs me around £10,000 to watch a single game in person, including lost earnings. Or to put that another way, 25 years worth of your contribution this season. Different animal all together. But again, if you continuously spread the mistruth that they didn’t put £16m in, then I will be here to correct it. It’s how myths start, bed in and cause damage. A Week To Go ... on 09:03 - Feb 11 with 1801 views | STID2017 | https://www.voice.wales/as-swansea-city-fans-we-must-fight-for-ownership-of-our- This article states that they have made a net profit on transfers of £66 million ( article dated Feb 22) So with the sale of Downes and spending on Harry Darling that would rise to approx £72 million ? So with all that income to the club, far from being the saviours of the club with their oft mentioned investment of £16 million, I would have to say they are guilty of gross mismanagement. This net profit, on top of parachute payments, yet they had to inject £16 million. Plus of course if Russell Martin is a bad appointment, then it is they who must take responsibility. After all who appointed him ?

A Week To Go ... on 10:59 - Feb 11 with 1758 views | Dr_Winston | Renewed on Thursday. If people want the club to spend more on players then buying fewer season ticket perhaps isn't the best way to go about it. Less people attending games = less cash in the clubs coffers. I expect Martin to be gone by the summer so hopefully next season will be more fun to watch.

My word. This has been continually explained to you. Let’s say you own a shop and make £10,000 profit on crisps, but owe £11,000 in wages. How much do you have left of that £10,000 profit? Would it be fair for me to say “you've made a £10,000 profit on crisps, why don’t you spend £10,000 on a watch”? The answer is because there is no profit, you made a £1000 loss. To bring this back to Swansea - the club made a loss including the profit made on transfers. This is the reality of relegation from the Premier League. Happy to help. [Post edited 11 Feb 2023 11:57]

A Week To Go ... on 14:38 - Feb 11 with 1659 views | jojaca | I will probably renew with peer pressure from kids, but I enjoy my Saturday afternoon just watching the footie on the box in the house these days. I prefer when we are away, BT Sports at 12:30, our game at 3, then the 17:30 game later. I do enjoy it when I am at the stadium, It's just the thought of going.

They have been the owners since 2016. In that almost 7 years, they have had responsibility for all aspects of running the club. That obviously includes appointment of non playing staff and sacking the same, sales and signing of players, and importantly rubber stamping of contracts for all those employed since their tenure began. So the contracts we were lumbered with since then are solely their responsibility and any loss made is down to their mismanagement. If the club was run sustainably then we would have no debt. The sacking of Guidolin, appointment of Bradley, signing of players such as Bony MkII, Clucas, Baston, Ayew (on his return from WHU ) as well as a host of other poor permanent and loan signings were all ultimately their responsibility. The way that they handled the sale of Gylfi and Llorente, leaving us in a position of panic buying late in the window was inexcusable. In January they had a decision to make over Russell Martin - back him or sack him. They have done neither. Even before today it is clear they have no faith in Martin. The owners are responsible for us being relegated, and subsequently getting into a position where the extra £16 million was needed. Not sure how you can say A) The owners are not ultimately culpable B) The owners appointed Martin, yet are not ultimately to blame for that decision C) Martin has not yet failed for us but is failing( when in endless posts you have said just the opposite)
