Contract rebels 09:20 - Jan 11 with 1168 views | SullutaCreturned | I saw this on the WOL and it had me thinking, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/swansea-city-transfer Millers contract latest Matt Taylor says a host of players including Swansea transfer target Chiedozie Ogbene are not interested in signing a new contract with Rotherham United at present. We have Manning refusing his contract here, Ritherham have a clutch of players refusing new deals, I wonder how many clubs are trying to cut costs and have players refusing deals? Will these players have to wake up one day and smell the coffee? Clubs outside the EPL cannot afford the massive, silly wages, wull they just have to accept it and take the best deal on offer? Are there being to be a lot of players availaable on a free in the summer?
Contract rebels on 09:54 - Jan 11 with 1128 views | Whiterockin | The difference with Rotherham is they are in the bottom 4 with a strong chance of going down. Possibly there is a relegation clause in the contracts the club wants them to sign.

Makes sense Hope we are not doing the same ? Would be prudent as can easily happen to almost anyone. Look at Barnsley

Contract rebels on 14:41 - Jan 11 with 945 views | heatwave | I think possibly a lot of clubs were hit by the pandemic and with losing a season of little revenue a lot of these players contracts are now up. Rumours of players being offered less money for a new contract would be no surprise and the player would obviously not be looking for a pay cut. Just a thought

Thing is Manning has been offered more as has Latibeaudiere. It’s just that what has been offered they have turned down.

I can understand the reasoning for wanting more money but of course as many clubs in this league we have to cut our cloth. Manning is definitely worth an increase, he is a superb footballer for us. Even better now he’s in the shop window. But his demands are just unaffordable. Shame, but that’s how it is 👠

If the demand for them is high enough they can demand a chunky signing on fee at any prospective new clubs. It is a risk though because they could do their achilles or cruciates and be left on the scrap heap.
