Didn't fit in to the back 3 model that Martin favours. When we use a back 4 we seem more comfortable and he would have been more suited to a winger role rather than "being out of position" in a wingback role where in Martin's setup the WB is expected to tbe both a high pressing winger and a full back expecting to use his pace taking on FBs and closing down fast wingers, unsustainable over the 90 without help from the middle four midfielders.
When he did come on and was effective Manning usually concentrated on the defensive duties.
May have been used more for the rest of the season if we are going to use a four at the back more.
Hope he doesn't come back and cause us trouble if he is loaned out to another Championship team.

That we've consistently utilized a central defender out wide this season instead of one of the several natural wide players available would suggest that the problem lies with management rather than the players. |  |

Have they been poor or has Martin just not moulded them into his style, like he hasn’t with the rest of the squad.
Oko-Flex, who rarely played, got supporters off their seats by offering a bit of excitement, speed and quality yet poor performing Sorrinola and Paterson have been regulars. Cundle has played a little but not often, Williams was wasted, although a purchase Ogbeta has had his time wasted. |  |
