She moved to London when she was 2. Year and a bit older than Boris Johnson when he moved to London from his birthplace in the USA.

She’s from Bromley I think. Certainly sounds like she is. Wouldn’t imagine so. Not many Swans fans in Bromley I suspect.
Emma Raducanu on 05:00 - Sep 9 with 1708 views | Dr_Parnassus | Sakkari will be a completely different proposition in the next. Bencic is excellent but she can often beat herself when behind, she did that at times when Emma looked shaky on her last few service games. I was speaking with Sakkari’s coach about 5/6 years ago when she was at the French Open qualifiers, playing in front of about 20 people. She lost against Grace Min, who is a bit of a journeywoman American grinder (and about 4 foot tall!!) but her quality and potential was stunning, even in defeat. He told me that she has a drive and determination that is rare even at this level, she was physically superior to everyone back then at the qualifiers and she has continued that now she has established herself. With the extra matches Emma has played and the fitness levels of Maria being off the charts, this one will be a tough ask. [Post edited 9 Sep 2021 5:11]

Sakkari is 26 years old and odds on favourite in this match up, if Raducanu plays to her ability and is able to be mentally strong Raducanu can win the match.

People said the same about Laura Robson. Let's also not forget Jo Konta got to number 4 in the world in the Serena era, that will take some catching. Lots can change in tennis, its incredibly physically demanding and your body has to be pretty special to endure it. People on here complain that a player has two 90min games in the space of a week. These players sometimes have 5 a week, multiple hour long marathons with just December off, flying in between destinations, often across time zones. She has excellent promise and is probably currently top 25 in reality, but would be unfair to make bold predictions in such a strong field. The women's game has incredible depth with superstars emerging from everywhere. Yastremska Kostyuk Fernandez Anisimova Tauson All of the above are superstars in waiting not yet made their breakthrough for one reason or another (although Fernandez is now). The women's game is going to be stacked.

No, they didn’t get it wrong. I’ve tried to explain that to you before but you didn’t understand odds and probabilities back then and can’t for the life of me imagine you understand now. They (we) gave her a 45.5% chance of winning. Which was undoubtedly correct. People mistakenly think that if someone is odds against, and they win - then the odds were wrong. That’s a fundamental lack of understanding of the way in which probabilities and odds work. The odds won’t be too dissimilar if they meet in the next hard match up either. Potentially $1.83 each due to form, maybe $1.80 vs $1.95 in Sakkaris favour. A movement of a few %, no more than that. [Post edited 10 Sep 2021 7:32]

It was a clever game plan from her coach Andrew Richardson. Not sure if you noticed but Sakkari loves the down the T serve on big points, Richardson seemed to tell Raducanu to cover it at all costs. Sakkari then had to make serves she didn’t like and as a result her first serve % dropped to around 50%. The serve is one of Sakkaris biggest weapons which is rare in the women’s game outside of the likes of Sabalenka and Williams, and it absolutely rattled her. At one point in this tournament Sakkari won something like 21 straight service points, that’s almost unheard of in the women’s game (and pretty rare in the men’s). Clever game plan, solid ground game, mixed with an absolute inability to feel (or show rather) any sign of nerves was a deadly combination. She played Fernandez and beat her in straight sets in the Juniors, although that was on grass. So the signs are good that she may go on and complete the job. Quite remarkable really. It was not correct at all, Emma had a greater chance of winning than a 45.5% chance, Emma had a far greater than 50% chance of winning as she was in top form, Emma looked the better player going into the game, her 'A' game being better than the Greeks 'A' game as well and Emma was improving every match, yet she was odds against, not only was Emma the value bet before the game she was more likely to win than lose due to her ability and form imo (her mental ability to handle the situation not known after what happened at Wimbledon being the only question mark and that still remains). On another day in any future match up it would depend on form, surface, event but after the beating Emma handed out to the Greek player what with Emma's age and the Greek player being 26 years old, all things being equal Emma should win again (I don't know how Emma performs on clay, but on the faster surfaces it would be hard for a case to be made out for Sakkari).

It was correct and will continue to be correct. Emma is not a better player than Sakkari, she may be one day and that day may well come soon if she keeps her trajectory going, but as it stands she isn't. It doesn't matter the surface (although I already stipulated hard), Sakkari will still be favorite or close to even, on clay Sakkari would be $1.40. The only scenario Emma starts favorite is if its on grass and her form continues. Raducanu has excellent potential but her frailties have been plain to see this year, mainly due to inexperience. She lost in straight sets to Harriet Dart in the first round of Nottingham and also didn't even reach the semis at ITF level this year (both ITF GB and US). What she needs is consistency and experience. Currently she is performing on the big stage in this tournament and that's excellent. But to say she should have been favorite against multiple Grand Slam semi finalist and consistent performer at this level is just wrong.

Emma is a better player than Sakkari at this very moment in time, Emma beating her 6-1 6-4 in a Grand Slam semi proves it.

Incorrect, just like Dustin Brown isn't a better player than Nadal when he beat him at Wimbledon . In fact he has a 2-0 winning record against Nadal. Nadal is world number 5 with 20 Grand Slams - Brown is world 348 and never been in the top 50. Their results vs each other are an irrelevance to who is the better player.
