Paul Arriola 00:31 - Jan 23 with 5479 views | KeithHaynes | Definitely something the swans have been looking at, my issue here is he hasn’t played for fifteen months due to severe ligament damage. There have been talks and D.C. United manager David Kasper has confirmed it. Washington Post - “It’s an ongoing discussion,” Kasper said. “They are up against a clock with the [transfer] deadline. So it’s something obviously we’ll be engaging with Swansea in the coming days.” Again, I reckon this is an American link and not something Cooper or Marsh / Scott are involved in yet.

If you read Morris’s first interview he specifically mentions Cooper calling him so not sure about Arriola but don’t think Cooper will have issues involving Morris.

The financial director of Seattle Sounders has a holding also in Swansea city and must therefore be on good terms with the main US owners. His name is Peter Tamazowa. I am not sure if he is one of the 28 or not. The chairman of Seattle stated there was a roughly £5m fee for a sale of Morris all being well and this was real good business for them. I would imagine Cooper / Scott were notified that he could cast his eye over Seattle and DC players to see if there was any player that he might find useful on loan. These players are full internationals and on £8k a week compared to £30k a weelk for Hourahaine for example. A clear mark up on Goykeres who is still finding his way. There is talk of a delay to the US season from March to May and rumour of player industrial action. [Post edited 23 Jan 2021 10:28]

Feels like he’s the fall back plan - question is I guess is that because we have a better, being kept quiet, plan A or is it in case we lose someone e.g. Dhanda | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Could be RJ, personally not a huge fan of converting an attacking player to a more balanced RWB role but not seen anything of this lad & Cooper plus his coaching team are doing a good job so if he sees something that’s good enough for me.

Paul Arriola on 12:46 - Jan 27 with 2129 views | Badlands | Given the way Cooper hasn't used wingers I can understand why he would be keen on Arriola. A short term loan wouldn't give him time to convert him to CF or wing back. I also read the USA national coaches had spoken to Cooper about what would benefit the player in the context of the national side ... that worries me.

The last point is a good one, almost as if they think they have a divine right, never been happy with the American involvement here, attitude stinks. Cooper won't be dictated to I'm sure.

The club statement says ... "Paul is committed to participating in both unconscious and conscious bias training, which he will undertake upon his return to DC United." Does that mean now, or the end of his loan deal??

Paul Arriola on 21:49 - Mar 6 with 1589 views | Dr_Parnassus | He was a teenager when those tweets were made, must have been what? 17? Silly more than sinister. Sadly that’s what people do now, they go back a decade to see if you have said anything they can hang you with. Social media is poison. I don’t see anything overtly racist there though? The spelling of the n word is the one used in the modern “reclaimed” way that you hear in nearly every American rap song and movie, he’s referring to himself, he isn’t calling anybody one. Not sure what the Lance Armstrong swimming tweet is about? As for female commentators, back then they were atrocious and being added simply to tick a box in various sports. I agree with him. They have improved greatly since then, especially Isa Guha and Beth Mowins in cricket and American football and a few notable others that add good value to their products.
