If you had you would have seen that the guy had mental health issues, dont think the police knew so they dealt with him accordingly, if they had bothered to find out more about him perhaps they might have treated him differently.

If you had you would have seen that the guy had mental health issues, dont think the police knew so they dealt with him accordingly, if they had bothered to find out more about him perhaps they might have treated him differently.

Mental Health is also a big issue in this country. The MH services are in a real mess, overworked under resourced and under funded. Imagine having a MH issue in the States where lots of people only have access to medical care through employment and your condition prevents you getting a job. Vicious circle with little hope.
Quite often it’s the cops who end up dealing with MH incidents, they aren’t trained, but are called because they are the last resort and there is no one else. They can’t walk away.
Dealing with someone under suffering from excited delirium or ABD as it’s now more commonly referred is extremely challenging and the condition is considered to be a medical emergency, the patient may well need immediate medicating to stop them dying, throw in PCP, threats of Covid and it becomes a real nightmare. I am not defending the cops, just pointing out how challenging some situations can be. [Post edited 3 Sep 2020 23:25]

No need to applause; it’s absolutely glaringly obvious.
This has been people’s point all along. It was said we agree police brutality is a problem, but not a black problem, it’s everybody’s problem. Let’s sort it together.
That turned into those stupid memes showing houses on fire and cuts on legs and who to treat first. Followed by the perfectly understandable “all lives matter” and now the fractured divide that BLM and their insistence to monopolise a non race issue as a black only issue.
Their actions have led to the destruction of countless black lives as a result. And will continue to do so if their ridiculous defund the police mantra is fulfilled.
