So far this 'Winter', in the 'Bont', there hasn't been any ice, let alone snow to speak of; and this goes back at least 6 years.
Only interminable weeks of grey skies and pissing it down.
I know cold weather messes normal life up, but I would dearly love some weather like in my 70's and early 80's youth.
Winters should be Winters; which makes Spring and Summer so dear. |  |

I work near cowbridge and I couldn't get there for almost a week when the beast struck. Goes to show how different the microclimates in each town can be. Porthcawl as always had very little though [Post edited 7 Jan 2020 23:53]

Don't think we've had decent snow fall in about 8-10 years. Only a bit of snow in the black mountains, Brecon beacons.

Fully agree with you , 40 years ago I was on strike and opted for the night spots as I had 1 young child and my wife was expecting, froze my rollocks everytime and was wrapped up like Scott of the Antarctic .

I was in Bergen in Norway during the summer. The city is believed to be the wettest in Western Europe with around 200 rainy days per year. What surprised me is that the locals love it when it rains because the rainfall powers hydroelectric stations and the more it rains the more money back they get on their bills. Some good reverse psychology there. |  |

Had to travel to Cornwall the Saturday after the beast from the east.
The motorway was pretty much clear until you hit Bridgend, then was restricted to two lanes all the way down the M4 and including the M5 until we got to Exeter.
By the time we got to Bodmin there was absolutely no snow at all.
