I clearly do not understand VAR and penalty decisions. Ref gives Man City a penalty after being asked nicely by the players and no overturning by VAR when it clearly was not a pen. Why can’t VAR overturn blatant mistakes like these? |  |

Yeah but this isn't even that, this is being touted as a clear and obvious error that VAR hasn't corrected.
So it's used for what we were told it wouldnt be used for, very close calls. Then it's not used to correct a clear and obvious error.

Apparently football is now looking to not consider "a non foul contact in the box" as a non foul. " But there was contact" dim football pundits say. Yes it is a contact sport..
For a penalty there must be a foul as with anywhere else on the field. I thought the ref yesterday was excellent and fair. |  |
