Attendance allowance is £332 per day plus travel expenses, which I think may include accommodation if your main residence is very distant. Some committees and other business meetings can be attended virtually online and still attract the allowance. Most years there are just under 160 days when the Lords sit, plus certain other business. Absolutely, if you attended every one of the 160 sessions you’d rake in £53k in addition to any traveling expanses which is a nice little Brucey bonus on top. That’s not including the subsidised nosh and alcohol available in the restaurants and bars. | | | |
