Liam Cullen linked to Hull on 05:55 - Dec 22 with 3244 views | Whiterockin | I have said for months lat he will be leaving in January. The contract situation with him has been badly mishandled, he is a regular squad member and a model profesional who is underpaid compared to other squad players. He would have been a much better option upfront the Yates but had been moved wide to accommodate him. I can understand some not appreciating him, but play him in correctly he will score goals. Good luck to him, another forward better than we have moved on, when will they ever learn.

The problem with both Yates and Cullen is they are second strikers, they need a lead striker to play off. They can both work off scraps, they'll both nick goals, clean up at break downs and loose balls. If only we could sign a player to lead the line.

lol. Was at Hornsea yesterday, just north of Hull. Plenty of postcards, chip shops ,buckets and spades and cheery northerners braving the walls of spray . All chaps I spoke to weren’t interested in football, but RL. My God ,do the two clubs hate each other

It's like a throw back to the good old days, minus the RL obviously.

Liam Cullen linked to Hull on 01:36 - Dec 24 with 2372 views | RichardO | Why would you want to loose a player who has at this level scored a number of goals and has provided assists on the back off slow pedestrian football, imagine what he could do with quicker more "risky" balls against some of the slow lumbering defenders stealing a living in the Championship. A squad player maybe but he has been in a number of winning teams when the team style, shape and selection has been right.

I"m with you, we are not playing him right, if he goes, i have a feeling it"ll be our Mcburnie moment all over again.

And this sums our recruitment up perfectly. Yates probably had excellent stats last season, as did Cullen. Cullen was most effective playing with Piroe, who whilst obviously not a target man, worries and occupies defenders, creating space for Cullen to pick up chances. I’d imagine Yates either played in a two or on one side of a three at Blackpool with a similar outcome. What do we do? Sign a powerful target man, but decide he’s too raw and restrict him to late substitute appearances. Pay big money for Yates, play him up front on his own and stick Cullen on the wing. Negate both of their strengths to the extent they both take a lot of flak and both eventually end up on the bench. This nonsense has got to stop. It’s not baseball.

Liam Cullen linked to Hull on 09:23 - Dec 24 with 2226 views | Dr_Winston | Cullen has no pace whatsoever and a Godawful first touch. We most definitely played to his strengths under Martin and he wasn't much cop then either.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Do you think he had improved adjusting to an unfamiliar role while not being the right player for the role selected for him but still providing assists and goals even though he is used sparingly. For me a squad play I wouldn't want to lose until someone better is deemed selectable.

And under rthis regime the worse you see of Cullen will be the best of his replacement

The US ownership grpup has provided for its managers sme excellent strikers since relegation. McBurnie Whittaker (highly rated outside south west Wales) Morris (loan gt injured) Goykeres (loan to buy) Piroe Obafemi (discipline issues) Patterson All better than Cullen. They even handed over one of their US team players Fletcher who scored a stack of goals for the u21. Duff was sniffy.

Liam Cullen linked to Hull on 20:37 - Dec 25 with 1777 views | QJumpingJack | Cooper and his team found Piroe (not the Americans). I think all the players you listed have come through our recruitment - Mark Allen, Andy Scott etc. I doubt our owners were aware of any of those strikers until they joined us. They were responsible for some loan players from DC United which Cooper refused to play if memory serves me correctly.

Andy Scott was employed by the club. Recruitment team is club based not linked to the manager. They tried this with Potter and we ended up the McKay and some other poor players. Levien employed the recruitment and signed off the players. Cooper played Morris who was from Seattle Sounders. He got a serious injury and labelled a 'Yankee crock'. Englishman Gibbs White got seriously injured and was labelled 'unlucky'.

Joel Asoro i seem to recall under Potter ? £2m and a 4 year contract from Swans. 14 appearances. Must have improved, playing for Metz now and a full Swedish international. He was no Bersant Celina bro …..

All this 👆 Plus he’s vey loyal. He’s still on a ridiculously low wage. Give him a new contract. He is a decent squad player, who, like many have said, can be a very good player when played correctly. Myko needs to be given some time upfront I believe, with Culs or Yates alongside and the other on the bench, ready to pounce. We can’t afford to get rid of Cullen and bring in a loan player to replace him
