Attempts to bring prisoners to court 08:25 - Jul 24 with 1387 views | onehunglow | To hear their sentence in cases of murder. I see interviews with victims families and their petition to change the law to allow convicted prisoners to be forced into court to hear their sentence. Barrister this morning opining it would create too many problems . This is where we are now

Yes our Silk chum thought it would disrupt the court and provide problems for security staff. Now then, why not simply handcuff them and also use leg restraints . These are killers we are talking about . A few stars have jumped out of the dock and out of the courthouse itself. If we cannot force evil ones to face up to what they have done, they could never be “ rehabilitated”. It is part of the process of providing justice for the families . We let them down as we always have done

I’ve seen numerous defendants plasticuffed to wheelchairs to be brought in to court. Not sure why this has changed ?

I haven’t matey . There’ s a question of possible assault in doing so as things appear now. It is madness. Too many have jumped straight out of the dock and outta the door. Too risky for “ security” people. Leg irons and boiler suits for me. Victims having buried their children should not be denied the chance to face the perp at sentence . It is part of the healing process. As for the Perp, apart from his legal team, who cares.

Forgot to add i.e. there are ways and means of subduing uncooperative prisoners that may turn violent. It's done within the prison system on a regular basis. Nothing some pepper spray and a bit of tasering can't cure. In fact I would have zero sympathy if a child killer was forced to appear in the dock even in circumstances when both methods were used in a single incidence, and I guess the poor murdered child's family would have even less sympathy anyhow.

It’s 2023 and we seemingly cannot deal with this situation. We do not have the will It appalls me. I feel for the Barristers making excuses for their absence
