New money coming in but the sums do not seem to stack up. 12:48 - Apr 28 with 1740 views | ReslovenSwan1 | In today's Western Mail it mentions and approximate £10m coming into the club. It however stated that the current owners the Kaplan, Levien Silverstein group would see their holding reduced to 50% of the club. As I stated in a recent post the £1m recent investment was probably to 'top up' the holding to match the 49%? holding by the new comers and minority shareholders. For example to leave the Kaplan group with 51%. If you assume the club is worth £40m on paper after the £19m for Kaplan and co then £10m would not dilute them to the 50%+ holding from 80% holding. If the target for them is a 51% holding for example ( to remain the majority shareholders) then the investment would need to be of the order of £32m-£40m not £10m. Why would the investors understate it?. Perhaps it is not to raise expectations before the Summer transfer window. In that case selling clubs would up their transfer fees knowing Swansea were 'in the money'. It is called the "Boehley effect". Just some musing from up in the trees. Feel free to comment on other possible scenarios and cross examine my logic. [Post edited 28 Apr 2023 12:52]

Keith has posted that the figure is higher. The "Boehly effect" has been around for years and it will always be there. I expect when newcastle ask about players they suffer from the Bin Salman effect and the price shoots up by 50%!

My observation predated Keith's same analysis as it happens. The 'Boehly effect' was my little joke.

10,000,001 maybe? Nah, I won't try and guess but it would be nice if it was 50,000,0000

I reckon it could be up to £30m. The extra £1m last month was designed to ensure Kaplan and co retain a 51% stake to allow them to make all the big decisions . Kaplan Levien and Silverstein are experienced sports investors. The Morris group are not. They will have seen the mess made by Chelsea. Strong dollar talk of more money for Champions teams from the PL pot and a club with a good philosophy and a talented young squad no debt and low transfer prices.
