If they are servicing the debt through interest payments and the debt is increasing, surely they fall foul of FFP.

You don’t, you cut your losses and sell up and everyone will know you didnt have what it takes to run a football club properly because you are a stubborn fool who won’t listen to anyone. Simple

I’m really not sure when we’ve been good…..never in a sustained way, just the odd decent season here and there.

There’s a lot of detail in there, I’d have thought the only way they’d clear that debt is by getting in to the PL and staying there for an extended period which, let’s face it is unlikely. Read they had some decent youngsters, but without being Cat 1 the big clubs can “poach” players on the cheap which makes building a team of youngsters difficult.

They need a major reset and the Swans are heading the same way. ( on the pitch that is).

They have a bit of history in not paying what they owe.

So do we. We don't have the high ground in this. Slightly less depressed ground perhaps.

Swansea city is in a decent position.

a) A decent first team squad with a number of good young players generally operating at short of their potential. Benda Wood, Cabango, Darling, Cooper Piroe Cullen all have a lot more to give.

b) There appears money in the bank for summer recruitment with two or three out of contract freeing wage money.

c) Three or four academy plays may make strides Rushesha is back Abullai first wave Cotterill Congreve Lloyd second wave.

d) Benda will be back.

e) A change of manager or back room staff may improve things

Have to agree although we've never carried their amount of debt and at least we offered to and did pay nearly all the Clubs creditors , certainly the last time we faced similar issues .

For sure. The total amount we owed both times we went into Administration doesn't come close to meeting what they tried to gyp out of with Sala alone. Probably not even 20% of it.

A lot of people were left out of pocket though. A lot of people who probably couldn't afford to be.

There was a post a few years ago with who we actually owed money, from memory I believe St Johns ambulance was the highest amount which I think was about 200k, money they have probably had back 100 fold when we played in the PL.

Id imagine there were a few small businesses who it caused a bit of difficulty but its completely different gravy both debts.

There's a difference between being happy to receive what they did, and accepting what was on offer at the risk of receiving nothing at all.

I recall a struggling dry cleaning firm were stung for £17,000. The way I cook my onions i would have contracted them and paid them back all those year later with the PL money. Not obligatory but the decent thing to do. They may have resumed services in the better days who knows? .

I read somewhere that Mr Hollins missed a deadline either by mistake or intention and did not even get his 5%.

I still pull up the 'Yanks out' crowd when I consider the mess a number of local owners (who loved the club unconditionally) made of the job.

Even taking covid out of it they are apparently still losing One Million per month. That is huge, specially consdering their league position. If FFP gets them they are in big trouble.

Makes our owners financial dealings look much wiser, except we know they maybe made a mistake in not strengthening in January.

If I remember correctly they were paying Tan £5M per year in interest payments.
