I’ve prosecuted a few of these for PCoJ all went to prison. Really not worth it. People think it’s nothing to nominate their wife eg to share the points and then boast about it !

These people are truly stupid and selfish. I reckon (being Judge Jeffries) that all who try these scams should have to forfeit their vehicle and it should be auctioned off to pay costs and to teach them a lesson.

If, as with the Hassan case, there is no vehicle then they should get an extra 6 months inside!

If I were in charge we'd need at least 10 more large prisons.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

There is a power under the Sentencing Act to confiscate a vehicle related to an offence, normally reserved for dangerous driving or burglary. Wouldn’t normally happen in a case like this, at least I’ve never applied for it.

they seem to forget, they're dealing with the police, they have a lot of powers

Investigators found 62-year-old Britton's phone had travelled from his home in Caerphilly to Pembroke Dock and back on the day of the speeding offence and had been connected to a mobile mast near Ammanford shortly after the time he was caught on camera near Carmarthen.
