Big elephant in the room here. No matter what side of the divide you sit on, it's clearly time for a thorough investigation and lots more constructive debate. the time for bickering and childish demonising of those you don't agree with is done. There are lives at risk here One thing that we can all agree on is that there are unusually high amount of excess deaths, people dropping like flies all around the world everyday, yes they always have but not at this rate, we need to know the reason WHY and looking for a way to fix it. If the government care so much that they can plough trillions into a vaccine to prevent deaths through covid then they can plough some of those big bucks they earned throughout covid into finding out what is going on here.
Hopefully this can be debated constructively

His PhD (which allows him to use the title of Dr) is basically in making youtube videos.
He's apparently one step away from being banned from YouTube which would be great for everyone apart from him because producing this rubbish is his cash cow.
To avoid being banned he's no longer overtly lying but being incredibly selective in what he is posting.

And the NHS has been underfunded for a lot longer.
Those advocating lockdowns are now reaping the rewards, paying people to be prisoners in their own homes(mental health), shutting down the healthcare (waiting lists for operations) and to top it off an experimental jibby jab with no long term data. It's was kind of obvious we would see excess deaths if the numbers are anywhere near accurate and to make things worse now we have to pay that back now, making us poorer causing more hardship and mental health issues.

It's good t nothing to do with anti vaxx moonbattery or alleged NHS underfunding (£1bn spent every three days, 1.5m employees) and far more to do with two years of people basically being unable to get treated for anything but COVID because the NHS was allowed to cancel everything else.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

You can't get long term data until something has been in use long term.
I won't argue that big mistakes were made but some of them are mistakes in hindsight which is almost always 20/20 vision, it's not so clear to see before you make a choice, what the outcome will be.
The lockdowns, we needed a form of lockdown where only the most vulnerable stayed home. The Enfys hospitals, what a massive waste of money, we never had the staff for them anyway.
The vaccination itself, well I caught covid after being vaccinated and I was asymptomatic yet I was considered vulnerable during the lockdowns and I was told to shield. On the face of it the vaccine certainly worked for me. People always want to make a big thing of excess deaths but the death rates are an average, they rise and fall year on year. People with certain conditins like Diabetes and cardiovascular issues will always be more vulnerable.
This last month I had my BP checked and it's down to 110/70, they reduced my meds because my BP improved on my return to work and the resulting improvement in my fitness must have helped, even so my Cholesterol had risen to 7 and I'm on Statins, it's a genetic thing. I had my covid vaccines and I've been fine, better than for years actually. Maybe I'm an anomaly but I doubt it, well not in covid vaccine terms anyway

If one thing is clear from "Dr" John's video the deaths clearly have nothing to do with the jibby jab as he says in the first few seconds the excess deaths are not seen in every country.
Pretty much every country has used the vaccine on almost the entire population.
I honestly don't think there was a realistic option other than lockdown and restrictions. They probably could have been better handled, especially in Wales.
The NHS had to be restricted to some degree. It's the lack of resources to deal with the peak that followed is the problem.
If you have a heart attack or stroke there is a high chance you'll be dead by the time the ambulance gets to you.
Something like 1 in 6 people in hospital are fit enough to be discharged but there is nowhere for them to be discharged to.
The NHS and social care need more money and the money being spent properly.
Interesting. We all had a COVID like illness in late December 2019. Given that samples have been found in Italy as early as Sept 2019, then i am convinced it was COVID - all the symptoms matched.
COVID, is not necessarily a respiratory illness, it affects the circulatory system and the organs too.
The cancel fascists will shut him down though.

I've been having a covid like illness a couple of times a year since the 70's.

An initial lockdown might have made sense. A short, intensive period to try and limit the spread in the first place.
That they continued long past the point of usefulness, and in Wales came with added stupidity like closed parks, beaches, supermarket aisles and the grossly moronic five mile rule just made things worse.

I think it is only natural to assume that with each and every booster-jab roll out there will be less and less of an uptake even by those deemed to belong to a more vunerable group which in itself will contribute to 'excess deaths'.
People become apathetic and lesser concerend especially when Covid is no longer on newspaper frontpages like it once used to be.

Perhaps it would be more responsible to quote his actual education. Because as well as the Phd he also has a Bachelor of Science in biology and Master of Science in health science. Remind us again what your medical credentials are. But more importantly instead of character assassination, which you and prof have used to discredit information presented by anyone who disagrees with your position, you should actually try to discuss the data. But as we know you have your own special version of interpretation of raw and statistical data. It would be nice if he got to hear what you are saying about him, I am sure putting what you have in writing could have consequences. I wonder what Sirjonalot thinks about it?

Simple question:
Is he a medical doctor?

His PhD is in making videos. His first degree is in biology, which could include as much plant biology as anything else and he studied health science for a year.
I am as academically qualified as he is but my degrees are from Russell group universities rather than the university of Bolton.
He has no academic qualifications that allow him to practice medicine. Why anyone would believe a word that comes out of his mouth before or after being underlined by his fountain pen is beyond me. He is doing nothing more than playing to his subscribers wishes. It's like onlyfans for antivaxxers.
What on earth is this data supposed to demonstrate? That there are excess deaths? We know that. But it does nothing to show what the root cause of these are. He's insinuating that they can be attributed to a root cause but provides no evidence of that cause.
One thing that is clear from the first minute of his "talk" is that the root cause isn't vaccination

Unfortunately anyone who challenged the concept of a full lockdown got shouted down by the media, the opposition and many in the scientific community......and then there's the nonsense that is social media. We need to, but probably won't, learn from this. There needs to be more robust governance and less surrender to the political agendas and campaigning media. An example of this is the recent run on gilts, all the fault of Truss, actually not all just some. It's down to a pension regulator allowing fund managers to have unmanageable amounts tied up in swap deals which meant a tiny shift in the market would mean a rush for liquidity. We get told it's all down to Truss while the real culprits run free with no change in the regulation, we now wait for another miss selling event on the City for us all to pay for.

I think the first lockdown was correct. We didn’t really know what we were dealing with, there was no vaccine and there was a real chance of the NHS being overwhelmed.
Further restrictions; I’m not convinced.

The first lockdown initially made sense.
Unfortunately despite the wealth of evidence that started coming out about the almost total lack of risk from outdoors transmission (remember the new waves of Covid infections that didn't happen from VE day celebrations, BLM protests and other outdoor gatherings) for some reason Governments, particularly in Wales, decided to keep them in place regardless.
A brief perusal of Google would suggest that despite getting pelters from all and sundry at the time, the Swedish approach was the correct one. No significantly different mortality rate then, one well below most other Western European nations now.
We were kept locked down far longer than we needed to be because those in power either didn't know what else to do, or out of petty political posturing and a desire to be seen as "tougher" than in England.

With hindsight I think the two full lockdowns were needed at the time. Society could have collapsed without them, but the second should have been a bit more nuanced based on the experience of the first.
The additional Welsh restrictions were completely farcical.

Surely using hindsight you would say no lockdowns were needed, I have no doubt in years to come even the most avid pro vax will admit that.

Shielding highly vunerable O.A.P's and others e.g. with certain health condiitons did save lives and meant far lesser infection rates that would have created NHS service provision catastrophe. Sadly it was not very pleasant for people wanting to see loved one's but a price well worth paying?
Crazy to think some wanted no sheilding or lockdowns! Absolute nut-jobs IMO!
