Not sure about a lack of ambition, more like a lack of effort on behalf of the swans support.

Only a lack of effort if you believe in what that banner says. I mean, there isn't massive investment obviously but I don't doubt the owners ambitions which will include making profits.

I just don't think some people live in the real world. If they expect the owners to pump 30 million in so we can be promoted they are fantsasists.
Besides anything else, spending a lot more than you have coming in causes disasters...DERBY COUNTY folks, pay attention. Then there's Forest, they have spent well over 100 million and they are deep into a relegation fight. If they come down there will be chaos as they struggle to avoid a fate that several other clubs like Portsmouth suffered. it's nt just what they spent on transfer fees, it's how big their contractual commitments are. They could sell most of their squad and still be in big debt. I think what they are risking and what many clubs risk is crazy. That's why so many clubs are in bigger debt than us. Our wage budget is lower than most of them but we don't have the debts they have.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

My view is if there was no ambition then Obafemi and Piroe would be long gone.

I wouldn't go that far, more likely the offers received were derisory, otherwise both would be gone.

The owners certainly have ambition, ambition to make money, and hopefully at the same time, own a successful football club that is potentially worth more than they paid for it.

I'd be happy with that.

Then they would have cashed in ?

I’m uncertain mind if we had any offers for Piroe, just inquiries.

I’m happy to an extent with what we have done this year, Harry Darling might not be, but I am 😉

I think turning down the approach for Obafemi showed some ambition. lets be honest, most people expected one of them and maybe both of them to be sold.

One of the most common accusations thrown at them is that they'll sell anything that isn't nailed down for a bargain price. We didn't sell two of our most important players in the last window for a bargain price. No doubt next window people will be wailing that we always sell anything that isn't nailed down for a bargain price. And on. And on.

From Sigurdsson onwards we've generally got best available price for whoever we've sold. Where we've fallen down is in reinvesting that wisely.

I've said before and I'll say again that I don't much care who owns the club as long as they endeavour to run it sustainably. In reality we've probably overspent in recent years hence the requirement for Silverstein's involvement, but a lot of that can probably be put down to the impact of Covid.

There are a great many clubs in a much worse position than we are.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Not sure if the timings was right for either to be sold. Piroe unknown and Obafemi took a while to get going + his off field antics , I'm guessing the owners hung on hopeful that they'll stock will rise even further and with it a higher price . January can be the silly season for a lot of desperate Clubs at both ends of a league table

Lets rewind back to Summer 2016.
So much was promised at the first press conference. Has it been delivered? I am not convinced & it feels that they are disengaged with only occasional appearances/updates.

It feels the same to me.
I suppose the only plus is we have the best attacking duo in the league.

OK I've changed it.

Make no bones about it if Burnley or anyone else had come up with the greenbacks Oba would be somewhere else right now, the fact that the hierarchy new how much they needed to (a) replace him (b) reinvest in strengthening elsewhere and (c) have a bit left over for Xmas presents is a good thing.

It looks as if they’re learning a valuable lesson

Hopefully we are going to follow the Brentford model. Buy cheap and sell high then slowly build to the Premier League.
