Borja who alway came over as a nice enough chap is back in the goals. 16 this season matching Piroe in the Secunda league. I reckon there was on passing moment of real hope when he scored his second goal for Swansea in a friendly v Exeter city under Cooper.
He hit it off with McBurnie is a 15 minute spell which suggested a real good balance between the two. They just sort of clicked Swansea understandably accepted £18m -20m and OMcB went. Borja was delighted to score that day after 3 years away.

Sort of jest. He looked good for about 15 minutes. Jenkins was a football god. 15 years of success. I am suggesting he could have been an asset if handled properly.

So no one can criticise anyone or anything else related to the club because the trust deserve criticism on a different, totally unrelated matter?

There's an argument to say Baston was completely unsuited for the physicality of the British game. In fairness, the Mesa signing I believe was based on sound logic. We needed a Leon replacement and this stats suggested he could be that and help bring the style of play back to a more passing based game.
However, Clement was tasked with keeping us in the premier league and he thought the most effective way to do that with the squad he had was to be more direct using Llorente and relying on Siggys set pieces. Mesa just didn't fit into that. He seems more a victim of timing and circumstance. | |
